After searching everywhere for the full Extended Function Codes for the Westinghouse W4207 42" 720p LCD Monitor, I decided to run through the full code set myself and hope this will help others in the future (the first 256 codes that is)...

This TV has no ATSC tuner, but is a great monitor for connecting to multiple high def inputs. As there is no tuner, the remote is pretty limited in functionality, but at least most of the items have direct codes (except for discrete on/off codes).

Using the Sony TV device code: 0000 - www[.]hifi-remote[.]com/cgi-bin2/ueic.cgi?TV_0000 - as a starting point, I found many were different, some not listed, and a whole bunch not used.

As I'm using a JP1.1 remote, I'm listing all 5 digits, obviously you can remove the leading 2 zeros if you don't need them (these will provide full functionality of the RMV-01 remote included with this model)... the main reason I dug these up was because I wanted to map the button that changes the brightness onto my Comcast cable remote.

Buy.com has these is stock again for a very good price. Mine is 2 years old now and has been flawless with a HTPC into DVI1 and a PS3 in the HDMI port. Only complaint is that it doesn't do a good job of auto-detecting which device is on, but all in all a great monitor.

Just want to say I've been using this set as a secondary HDTV for the wife and it's been going like a champ since Nov. 2007 (BF Deal at BB).

I have had my W4207 for over two years. Worked perfectly until today and then while watching TV the screen just died but the tv was still one, or at least the blue led was. Now when ever I turn the TV on the backlight flashes once and then nothing. Anyone have any idea whats wrong? Is there hope or should it get the dumpster?

Sorry if this is the wrong place to put this.

Sounds bad. Have you checked whether westinghouse has a help line? Mine's about 2 years old and working fine.

I took it apart and the circuit boards look fine. Also the audio itself still works. I haven't tried calling westinghouse yet. Sadly I leave on business soon and don't have time to deal with this. If I get it fixed when I get back I will post an update saying what was wrong.

I just had the same issue. Wife and son were watching and suddenly the TV just went blank. The blue LED is still on. If anyone else was able to figure it out, please share

I unplugged the power cord from the tv for a couple of minutes and plugged it back in. I have done that a couple of times and it has worked for me!

Please let us know. I have the same problem, i thought it was a backlight inverter board. So i bought a new one and replaced it and still the TV backlight turns on, and then right off. I noticed once i took it apart i saw 2 blinking orange LED's on the back flashing after it was turned on. LED #2 and LED #7. Does anyone know what that means??
