I have a Sharp LC-40C32U that I got from Costco.

I have my PC hooked up to it via DVI. When I select my output resolution as 1360 x 768 (native res for screen), the TV sees it as 1024 x 768 which distorts the whole picture. If I output at 1280 x 720 the proportions are fine but there is a massive amount of overscan (at least 1-2 inches are chopped off all around). Is there something else I need to do?

Hey ryder1650: in case you are still looking for info, here is what I have done.

Connected my PC using DVI cable to the DVI input (#5) on the LC-40C32U.
I have set my PC graphics card resolution to 1360x768.
From the Sharp menu -> options -> input signal, set the signal to 1360x768. Getting the display fine, no overscan.

My graphics card is a PNY GeForce FX5700, and I am using the latest NVIDIA Forceware drivers downloaded from the NVIDIA website.

Hope this helps.

@ cyornaya,

I'm pretty much settled on this Sharp. Question: When changing the input from, say, a HDMI-connected STB to the computer via the DVI input, do you have to go into the menus each time to adjust the input signal? Or, is that a one-time setup?

Its a one-time setup. The TV had dedicated memory for each input, and so the signal type gets automatically adjusted when moving from input to input.
