I'm looking to pick up a flat panel tv ~37" for the bedroom. I've looked a little at displays at the local CC/BB and a friend's place (I think mainly LCD). one of the things I've noticed is what looks like sparklies or aliasing.

the edges of objects are fairly sharp with the higher resolutions, and if there's a hard edge between light/dark pixels, some of the lighter pixels look too bright. the end result is sparkling along those edges, which detracts from the overall image.

I'm curious if this is just due to mis-calibration, or if this is a common problem.

Thanks!
