This will be my first HDTV or flat panel purchase and I've narrowed down my choices to one of these two models: the Sharp Aquos LC-37D40U and the Sony Bravia KDL40S2000. For one thing, they are both available (albeit with slightly different model numbers) at Costco, and I have a $1500 store credit to spend there. Here are the pros vs. cons of each, as I see them.
Sharp Aquos LC-37D40U
about $400 cheaper than the Sony
2 HDMI inputs
obviously, it's 3" smaller
i'm not crazy about the black on silver front bezel
tv doesn't swivel
Sony Bravia KDL40S2000
screen is 3" bigger
the stand swivels
i like the silver finish
$400 more expensive
only 1 HDMI input
I honestly can't tell the difference in picture quality. Is there one? I realize it's subjective, but does there seem to be any consensus of opinion? Are there any pros/cons I might be missing?
Thanks in advance for any help or insight you can provide.
