I have just bought a LVM42-W2 and I own an Xbox 360. When I run my Xbox 360 on component in 1080p, I noticed the image looked way more washed out than the 1080i signal. I also tested 1080p on VGA, which looked even more washed out. The Xbox 360 upconvertes from 720p rather than deinterlacing from 1080i, correct? Does this monitor automically deinterlace 1080i signals into 1080p? Is there a way I can calibrate my TV to look better when accepting a 1080p signal over VGA or component? Is there another way to get better image quality than using a 1080i signal over component? Thanks in advance for any help.

This issue happens on my Dell also. I have no idea what causes it though? I'm running it through a VGA cable also.

I have 37" which I assume is very similar to 42", of course the picture is washed out before you calibrate it at least in the ballpark. One thing I noticed with Xbox360, the settings are all over the place, I need different settings for playing regular DVD over component (way too bright) and different for HD-DVD and games. For starters lower the backlight to about 20% above minimum, brightness to 25% and rest at 50% and take it from there. There was firmware update this morning and VGA looks better now than before. I don't understand why Xbox doesn't have more advanced settings for Gamma, color etc. like every computer does, that would help to set profiles for different display types and even maybe share it among users.
