Does professional calibration really make that much difference?

My Sharp Aquos 42" LCD looks great with Cox cable and the Explorer 8300 HD-DVR hooked up to the HDMI input. All I did is lower the back light and use INHDs setup screens that they broadcast on Sunday morning at 7AM.

Even though im a first timer with HD TV i do think I have a discriminating eye and am somewhat of a perfectionist. I see no reason to have someone come in and try to make it better.

It looks perfect to me...Am I wrong, am I missing something?

Absolutely no reason. LCD's don't have as many variables as old CRT's did, and it's not like you have to open the box up and align stuff up. I have no idea what a professional calibrator would even do on an LCD.
