Can anyone confirm whether the 6XF series handles 1080p/24Hz signal via HDMI?

Thanks. Great review of that feature. Any pics would be appreceiated. how is the response time of the media interface? Does it browse the folders quick and respond to key presses quickly, or does it take forever?

All these posts and nobody has tried to confirm 24p input support? HDMI 1.3 doesn't guarantee anything IMO. Or did I miss it somehow?

The respond time is very good, the over all idea is great.
my 2 cents

I first got a 3251D 2 weeks ago then had problems with the screen and had to return it that's how I ended upgrading to this set.

While I had 3251D I was going to buy the ipod connection cable from Samsung.
Because I was able to control fully the play list and video part of my ipod. Just like if I had a docking station. Plus I was going to be able to control all that from one remote control. Wow like s great.

Then I had the problem with the 3251D and didn't get it.

Then this came by, I read the manual and it really looked like an after thought on the company's part for this feature. In the world we live in today I believe that even newborn babies come install with an ipod ready cable. (our great blue wonderful ipod world)
Coke, baseball ipod and apple pie).

So to what ever this is worth I m very happy and even surprise that this wise link feature worked the way that there manual says it's suppose to work.

Very fast responds and like I posted before no problems ready an external drive with Mp3's or Jpeg files.

Yeah I wish that I was able to play and control ipod play list and other feature from the sammys remote but maybe in a future O.S. upgrade

If anyone with a 4661 gets this to work, let me know how you did it. I am not able to connect my ipod to my 4661. I tried putting it into disk mode but still no luck.

Edit: I think I found the answer. The manual says it only supports FAT16/32. My ipod is formatted and used on a Mac. Oh well

I thought Mac can read fat16/fat32. Maybe you want to format it as fat32 if you want to connect your ipod to your new Sammy.

Well, i just got my 4661f from vanns this morning and i must say IT IS AMAZING. I have everything hooked (PS3, TWC 8300hd dvr, ipod, dvd player), and it looks great. I have my ipod setup for my pc and it does read it through wiselink, however it doesnt display song names, just the files. The speakers are actually ALOT better than i expected. Sure, if your going for ultimate surround sound these things wont come close, but for regular tv and some music listening they r great. I have watched a little of both SD and HD cable and they r booth good. The sd is actually better than my olevia 527 i have previous to this, and the HD is superb as expected. I'm trying to configure the settings abit, but it seems this comes pretty well calibrated out of the box. No banding or clouds, i'm pretty sure. I will try to post up some pics after class.

PS3 60gig | HTPC (building now) | WDTV | AT&T UVerse

Hi All,

Just saw an awesome price from Direct buy (private retailer) on the 4661F.
As far as I can gather from specs on Samsung the main differences between 4661 and 4665 are:
4665 has 15000:1 contrast, 4661 10000:1

4665 has "super clear panel" which must create the glossier, more reflective screen we've heard about. I assume it also creates a deeper image though. 4661 has regular screen.

the speakers are in different places

one has 10 bit processing, the other doesn't say

has anyone seen these 2 side by side? I prefer the idea of non-glossy but not at the expense of the most awesome picture out there....

Fact is, when I get any of these puppies home, I'm sure I'll be blown away but I do want to get my money's worth as far as hedging against missing out on the next best thing.

any and all comments welcome.

thanks.

c in Toronto.

The 4066F is HDCP compliant. I'd be suprised if the 4065 wasn't. Do a search in the PDF manual.

I'm about to pull the trigger on one of these guys. I really want the 4066F, but it seems most of the places I look don't have them yet. What is the best deal online for one of these? I don't want to spend more than $19XX.XX.

I just got in my 4061F and so far everything is great except for one MAJOR problem. When playing through my hd-dvd player from my x-box (1080p over component) i get major tracers on moving images. Looks awful. Anybody else had this problem?

Well we need to figure out if this is true or not or just an isolated case of a certain brand dvd player not playing on the samsung. I wouldnt want to own a non HDCP compliant TV. It would be usesless if they implemnt HDCP on all HD broadcasting and DVD's. We would be stuck with a 1080p tv that only displays 480i

Well I am starting to think that this tv isnt supposed to do 1080p through components. I was playing xbox 360 over components at 1080p and got these wierd wavy lines on both component inputs. So I bought a vga cable for the 360 and that has worked flawlessly. The manual keeps stating only 1080i over components. Maybe thats your problem. And I thought that only the vga cables can ouput 1080p video during dvd playback from either the dvd drive or the HDdvdrive. So that might also be your problem. Got vga cables to try?

Great advice!!! Switched over to 1080i and the problem seems to be resolved. Knocks on wood

Well, I just spoke with a customer care person at Samsung. She initially was not sure about the meaning of HDCP, but at least she knew the TV I was asking about was a 2007 model!

Anyway, she stated that, after checking her "resources" that ALL Samsung TVs produced from model year 2004 on are HDCP compliant.

Also, she pointed me to the FAQ section of their website in which you can enter the question "Is my TV HDCP compliant" and get a response that says, in part, "If (your TV) has an HDMI jack, it is HDCP compliant."

So, it seems this is more of a case-by-case device issue, which seems common the the HDCP protocol in general (thanks MPAA :P)

OT, but is she permanently dead? I watch the show regularly but don't follow it outside of that, and was surprised that they killed her off?

I for one am new to this forum so forgive my comments if they are unwarranted...

Is it not true this is a discussion of Samsung LCD panels? Why the hell are you spoiling episodes in a forum that has nothing to do with Battle Star Gallactica??? Yes I watch the in HD BSG and no I have not seen them all. You just spoiled it for me... LAME!!! Stop the chatter so we do not have to sift through 180 pages like the last Samsung forum

For all others,

I currently own a LN-S4695dx and just called Samsung to come "fix" my horrible cloudiness issue. I am awaiting a reply. I should have it by tonight or tomorrow. Hopefully I can do an upgrade to the LN-T4661f.... I owned a Sharp LC-42D62U (banding) and Sony KDL-46S2010 (horrible picture) before and both went back to BB. I would have brought the Sammy back too but it is now beyond my 30 period...

Have any of you called Samsung for you "cloudiness" issues and what did they do for you?

Glad that helped. Go pick up some vga cables, that way your xbox will output a 1080p signal which means the tv wont have to upconvert the 1080i into 1080p it will be native to native. Don't know how much of a differnce it will be if any....

Why on earth are you guys talking about HDCP compliancy in 2007? Is it because of
the comments from someone earlier who was dealing with an ignorant Sony rep that
made assumptions that because a signal didn't work under HDMI, the thing couldn't
possibly be HDCP compliant? I didn't respond to the original fellow, but it seems that
it may be that his HDMI port is screwed. I can't believe someone from SONY actually
commented that a SAMSUNG TV is not HDCP compliant. It's not their product!

Good god, if Samsung or anyone sold an HDTV with HDMI inputs that were not HDCP
compliant, the whole A/V world would be all over them!

No looking for gratitude, just trying to lay to rest any doubts about what appears to be a great brand-new set. Whenever there is something brand new on the market, in my mind there is the potential the manufacturer left out something!!

I am happy that Samsung did not make the (as you point out) ridiculous error of including HDMI without HDCP.

Peace
