hey, im looking to get an lcd for my room for gaming and hd tv-ing, so i came to the experts. ive got a pio 5070 plasma in my living room, so ive been spoiled. im looking for a 1080p 37-42 inches. so far the tvs ive looked at have been the sony xbr, the sharp 37d62u and the samsung ln model. really what im looking for is the most noticable difference from my tvs 720p and the new lcds 1080p. i havent seen the samsung in person but the sony is a better picture than the sharp for sure. any advice? price is an issue too, which is prob why im not longer interested in the sony, ive found the sharp for 1200 and it looks like a 40inch samsung wont go any lower than 1600. any words for me?

If you're not in a hurry, the prices of the Samsung should come down by July
when the new models come out. Likewise for Sony in September.

Be sure to read up on the owner's threads on Sharp before you buy.

The new Samsung LN-T4061F and LN-T4065F are out. The 37 Sharp units are nice too and they just released the Sharp LC-37GP1U also. They have the LC-42D62U and LC-42D72U too.

Both. I have not read a lot about Sharps, but a lot of owners talk about,
and post photos, of banding. Others have no banding. Just something
to know and consider. You should read up on the specific model you
might choose. It might not have that issue or it may. Even if a panel
has some sort of complaint on these forums, it might not necessarily
change your decision. Some folks are more bothered by certain
issues than others.
