Wow, it's been 9 long years since my 4681F came out and I bought one. I'm assuming this thread is the most current one on the subject, so I'm posting here.
Today, I finally experienced my first viewing problem with it...
Seems the back light is working because there is grey on the screen when trying to view the picture. I can hear sound, change channels etc., and if I look close enough, I can even see a faint bit of shadowy movement of the objects on the grey screen, but no picture is showing like it's supposed to.
Have looked around the net a bit and saw info of how the problem may be the T-Con (Timing Control) Board (or a blown capacitor on the board), the Main Board and even possibly the Inverter. Wondering if anyone here can suggest what route to go of testing things. I'm currently leaning towards the T-Con Board as the problem.
I am willing to open the back casing to get inside if needed and pull a board out, etc. or whatever I need to do, without taking the heavy ass TV (77 lbs. with the base, 65 lbs. without) down to the repair shop. Any suggestions are appreciated.
