Thin bezel (1.1") and thin frame (2.9") with 120hz and TruCinema in 46" size AND a matte screen = WIN

I think I just found my next living room display. I'd prefer something LED backlit, but this has everything else I want.

Built a new home, now filling it with sights and sounds!

What model is that for? Any idea of pricing? For the 46".

Have a great day..........Debbie!!!

Yes; current model HD camcorders support and record in deep color. As the initial "Z" TV description stated, TV's with deep color will make a great compliment to the sony HD camcorder.

Also, doesn't the PS3 (both games and theoretically blu-ray's) support deep color?

What i'm wondering is if "deep color" and 10-bit displays is synonamous?

MUGEN: do you happen to know the MSRP of the 46W4100? The MSRP of the 46Z4100 seems relatively high compared to the Toshiba XF550 series.

I can only advise you to be patient and I remind that someone had posted a while ago that from inside info the XBR6/7 is still the top of the line so maybe we will see the bigger sizes

I highly doubt that those prices will translate to that much in the states. I expect the 46W4100 to be around 2499 just like last year and the 46Z4100 to be a few hundred more. LCD prices are suppose to be comming down each year right ? LOL

I only wanted the 46W4100 but I only have 30-31 inches on height to work with. The translated height of the 46Z4100 is 28.9 so it will work due to its thin bezel, hopefully the 46W4100 is not much taller so I can save the money. The only thing it has better that the W line is the thin bezel and xy color.

Well...I have been waiting to find the dimensions on the 40Z series.....based on the the link....and my math conversion....looks like it is 37.1 inches. I have 36.75" available with cabinet doors open. Wife wont let me remove doors....but could put a slide and a swivel....a maybe turn the tv enough to close those "special" doors.....then pull it back out, straighten the tv back up.......
or.....the new Sony 37xbr6 is a possibility (haven't found the dimensions yet), or even possibly the new Toshiba 40xf550(120hz, 5:5 pull down, etc.), which measures 36.80 or so...........

really wanted 40....but close but yet so far..........(maybe my math was wrong.....ha ha....)

Currently main tv is 52xbr4........which is absolutely fantastic.........really would like to stay with the Sony products....

Well I removed my shelf and now height isnt an issue. I am going to get the 52W4100. It's now time for Sony to give us some info on the things. Perhaps today at their show in Vegas. Give Sony !

On the plus side, it allows that much more screen in a given space. The XBR series won't fit where I'm planning for it, whereas the same screen size in the W and V versions fits just fine.

I like the previous version's appearance a bit more also. The main thing I don't like about the new kind is that weird gap at the bottom.

I think that is a piece of glass, not just a gap. If you look at the high res pics on Sonys site you can see that there is lights on the right hand side like on the XBR's.

what's the point, either way? It serves no purpose but to show off the pedestal and wires. They are sacrificing performance by downsizing the speakers for this fluff. You can hear the same speaker setup on the samsungs... try cranking up the volume and you'll see what i mean.

Sony design has been trying to keep the floating glass effect alive, but after its original introduction in that 50" plasma many years ago, I think it's gone completely downhill.

"Make sure there's some 'float' in it!!" demands sony marketing. "It needs more 'float'!!"

I'm assuming the cables will be hidden from view through the clear slit at the bottom of the bezel....through some channeling in the back of the pedestal?
