Thats what i am hoping for , my c6 is scheduled to arrive 9/7/2016 , the EG9600 was not to bad , but my expectations were low , they are higher for the C6

Black on an OLED is really just unlike anything I've ever seen before. Even when other things do true black, when for instance at times when certain FALD sets shut off their LED's even though it's still zero black it just doesn't looks the same to me. It doesn't have the depth of the OLED blacks. Sometimes I go into my Best Buy and I can always spot the OLED's right from the door (there is a clear view of pretty much the whole store from the entrance) from a good distance just by the blacks. One time my BB rearranged the tv's and moved the OLED's in a very different spot and I noticed on the other side of the store because of the signature blacks.

If LG was just a little more competent and had some more consistent quality control they would honestly have a perfect TV, or as close as there has ever been. Not to knock too hard on them, their OLED's are still amazing and among the best sets ever

Question to those who have had ISF mode unlocked, exactly how big is this brightness boost you get that I've heard so much about? Lately even though I am quite satisfied with how good it looks in the day in my room I do find myself wishing sometimes it was just little brighter, but I can't get it any brighter without raising black and screwing up accuracy because I don't have the ISF modes unlocked as of yet

It is quite a boost, my UK KRP-500A on Pure preset is about 32ftL with Contrast @ 36 & no clipping

ISF Day can be cranked up to 50ftL with contrast @ 38 with no clipping

It's quite a difference although far too bright for me at night with no lighting in the room, I have ISF Night @ 32ftl which is only a contrast setting of 26!

That's pretty amazing for a 1080p Plasma from 2008. I should have asked the guy I bought it from to unlock ISF mode, he had the service menu remote and he showed me the service menu when I picked it up from him. I didn't think of it, I don't even think I knew about the brightness boost at the time.

Oh, I just heard the way to unlock it lies in the service menu. I really have no idea exactly what you're supposed to do though

I'm not sure if they can be unlocked from the service menu alone

I purchased ControlCal with 2 profiles for my 500A which enables me to unlock and adjust the ISF Modes

I can also gain access to the Service Menu by one of the profiles easily to adjust voltages etc and calibrate the white balance.

Just recently, my PRO-111FD developed the dreaded 8 blue blinks which would happen when changing input source. It also happens occasionally when watching OTA TV
but quite rare. While the blue light blinking 8 blinks pattern, pressing display gives 6 orange blinks. When the problem happens, I'd have to wait 10 minutes sometimes longer
before turning the TV off/on for it to work again. If I change input, it happens again.

I found a copy of the PDP-5020FD Service Manual and according to PD/SD diagnostic table, 8 blue and 5 orange pattern means "Main IIC communication with main VDEC".
I think the VDEC is on main board so this would not be same as the power regulator fix for the IO_AUDIO assembly floating out there.

Anyone got this problem before or know of a fix? I'd appreciate any recommendation you can give. Thanks.

Send main and audio board to eBay user kcrownie2 for repair.

Does anyone here know the sequence and colour of blinks for a Pro-111 power supply that needs replacement?

Thanks

Is $750 for PRO-141FD with 4000 a fair price in today's market for these sets?

I paid 600 for a 111FD with 20K hours on it last April... was a bit of a risk and the price was high for so many hours but it works pretty flawlessly. I would say that's a good price especially for a 60 inch panel and less than 10K hours. Make sure it doesn't have the horrible red tint, although if it does that can be fixed

Yes. Very fair considering the low amount of hours.

Just make sure it's not afflicted by red tinted blacks.
