And no, I would not use a 2 part epoxy, id use a hot glue gun.

That is nice you are happy but there is no way in hell I would ever have mine recalibrated.

You did say 'IMO' though so as long as your are happy then that is what counts, though I am sure D-Nice is happy too.

My point exactly. Manufacturers started producing junk, and the only way to protect against earlier demise of junk is with a warranty. If the manufacturer offers a long warranty, they aren't making junk. If it's a short warranty--and I'd argue that a two-year warranty on a device projected to last 100,000 hours--is short, then the manufacturer is essentially saying they don't back their product, and you must protect yourself.

We buy stuff that lasts and only upgrade when there is a clear improvement. Our next display will be a 70" OLED, in a decade or so.

The right way to do it is to drill through the bezel from the front and put in some lag bolts to secure it.

I disagree, say a family with 5 kids owns it, and the way it works out is the TV gets turned on/off 40 times a day.


Or some guy basically leaves his on for 15 hours a day for whatever reasons.

IMO these would be considered to be bordering on abuse, id say 2 years is very generous.

I think companies are factoring into their warranties how long their products last in the worst cases.

Excellent ideas guys , though if you do use bolts id recommend using a torque wrench , say 20-25lbs woulds be about right.

Calibrations seem to run between ~ $300-600, depending on how extensive it is and whether it includes audio.

PS: D-Nice doesn't respond on this thread. But there are plenty of calibrators you can contact to find one that comes to your area.

I did misinderstand your post and for that I apologize. I have also read many of your posts and I appreciate the information you share.

I have lurked here for quite a while and recently took delivery of my 111FD. The information here is fantastic and the community is top notch as well. That's why I was taken aback by the negativity. I participate on other boards for a variety of topics and some have turned toxic, which is a shame. The internet has given us the ability to communicate faster then ever and we all benefit if we remain congenial

I think as someone stated earlier,he should report it and let Pioneer fix it..
It would really bother me knowing I spent that much money and everything wasn't just right..JMO..

Yeah, I got my Kuro yesterday, and have no dead pixels, bezel issues or cracked glass, and the buzzing is only discernable in complete quiet with my ear within 1 foot of the set.
