Hi D-Nice,

It's great to see the settings and issues thread up and running; thanks much for starting it and posting your settings on it. I look forward to everyone's reports.

I'm guessing that the text I quoted above contains a typo, yes? Did you mean to say "111FD/151FD Reference Settings" (or am I missing something)?

Yours,

David

D-nice, I thought Mode 2 was for dot by dot. Mode 1 was for full, etc. Did I miss something?

Thanks D-Nice.
I am confused by what you mean by:
Quote:

(Break-in DVD/Thumbdrive Owners ONLY!!!!!!! ONLY use these settings after the 150 hour break-in period!!!!!!!!

May I use these settiings if I used the DVD to Break-in my 151? I used Evangelo2's Break-in DVD with the settings recommended for the 8G plasmas.
Sorry if this is a dumb question.

May I use these settiings if I used the DVD to Break-in my 151? I used Evangelo2's Break-in DVD with the settings recommended for the 8G plasmas.
Sorry if this is a dumb question.

It means that these settings are only for owners who did the recommended break-in proceedure. If you do not do that proceedure, do not use these settings as they will not look correct.

Mode 2 works with all stretch modes....just uses a different orbiter pattern.

Can someone compare what dot-by-dot means to full?

Ah, so the reference settings are ~D65? Then the ones actually listed specifically as D55 are D55, and then you're going to provide some D75 for sports/blue junkies?

Awesome. How far off from dead-on true D65 do you think those reference settings are? Is it possible to get a true D65 gray scale with just user adjustments? If so, I'm tickled.

Color temp was pretty much flat from 20-100IRE. DeltaE averaged 2 from 20-30IRE and 0.7 from 40-100IRE. It doesn't really get any better than that

Wow, D-Nice, the settings before and after break-in REALLY changed!

I'll have to check out those settings and see how they work on my 151!

Thanks again.

if doing the break-in on the 111 with periods of watching full screen in between, do you suggest reference settings for non-break in users or reference settings for after break in for those periods?

note: the post above is my opinion. as such, when reading any recommendations from me, please do you research and seek out other recommendations and make up your own mind on your next course of action. i mean, most reasonable adults should know that, but it seems this should be stated anyways.

These breakin settings are a bit different than what was posted a couple of weeks ago. I ran my breakin on the old settings for 150 hours. Should I run for a few hours at these settings? If so, for how much longer?

To be honest, I don't really know. My best guess would be to use the break-in settings and the settings labeled "Non-Break-in DVD/Thumbdrive Owners ONLY!!!!!!!".

The settings labeled "Break-in DVD/Thumbdrive Owners ONLY!!!!!!! ONLY use these settings after the 150 hour break-in period!!!!!!!!!
"
are exclusive to those who choose to follow the break-in proceedure to the "T".
