Ok to start, I do not watch any sports. This is for Movies, TV shows and some gaming on the PS3.
I can wait until Black friday hits because I would be crazy not to wait and just see if anything turns up. Aside from that I'm torn, because I can spend all day reading and think I've found a gem but then completely go another direction. I started off with LCD from Toshiba that has 120hz and a 5:5 pulldown. A great LCD on paper for the price.
Receiver: Either the AVR-1909 or AVR-2309CI depending on how much money I have left from my tv purchase. I have heard good things about other brands and I may have to go cheaper if I can't find a good deal on the TV.
Player: Playstation 3 - 80Gig HD model.
Speaker setup: av123
Fronts: x-mtm, Center: x-cs, Rear: x-sls Sub: x-sub (5.1 theatre setup)
TV 1:Vizio VP505XVT (plasma)
Size, plasma, Price, new line with a nice style.
440W Average power consumption(holy sheez if thats correct)
Since I will be getting a decent receiver, I dont care a whole lot about the tv's onboard Silicon Optics HQV.
TV 2: Panasonic TH-50PZ800U (plasma)
Size, Plasma, Brand name
286W(after configuration), Heat.
Other thought: Price is on the high side of my budget I would prefer to keep int he 1500 range. But you do get what you pay for and this piece is very important. I want the best bang fo the buck possible.
Honorable mention: I saw this TV at costco and I really loved it's look, to bad they dont have a dark room with chairs so I can see how it looks in a proper setting.
TV 3: Toshiba Regza 46' (LCD) I think 46XV545U (Costco model so unsure)
Pro: Price 1500, 202W Power, ClearFrame120Hz Anti-Blur, Super Narrow Bezel(very attractive)
Other thoughts: It's my opinion that this is a very good LCD for the price, but is it good enough to beat a similar priced plasma? Thats why I'm asking really. I loved the picture but I was standing and looking at most likely out of box configuration.
