My father-in-law's T.V. is experiencing some strange display problems. Since moving the T.V. from a wall mounted location to a stand, his Philips 50PF9630 started showing an area of static in the upper left hand corner.

The static is in a rectangular area about 4 inches wide and about 10 inches long. It is white, and you can still see the picture beneath the static. What's strange, is the static appears to go away when there is no signal source (i.e., you switch off the DVD player with the T.V. still powered on).

One strip of the static (approx. 2 inches wide; same length) is more pronounced than the other strip.

The rest of the T.V. display is clear, no other issues with the it.

Any ideas what could be causing this issue?

Thanks!
