Right.

I used a magnifying glass and looked at the screen. I saw little rectangles of alternatng red, green, and blue colors. And at one side of the screen there is a vertical blue line while on the other side there is a red line. Is this something I should worry about?

lmao I guess it is true if you stay here too long you will really try to find every possible thing wrong with your set. At least some folks.

I just purchased the P42X1 on saturday at Sears, not sure if anyone is still looking to purchase this but they have a stellar deal right now. First off its on sale for $799, yeah yeah no big deal. But the cool thing is they are offering an instant $150 rebate on a tv stand with the purchase a panasonic hd tv over 42 inches.

Well on stop of that the stand and the tv together are over $999. well you get another instant rebate of 10 percent off your entire purchase if you put a portion of the sale on your Sears Card. Bottom line is you can get it for just a little over the sale price and get a free stand basically. I am employed through sears on the distribution side of things and was able to throw an employee discount on top and my total was $777. The stand was a $240 Z-Line stand.

Hopefully some of you will take advantage of this great deal with Panasonic and the tv stands, actually if you purchase a 1080 Panasonic TV the instant rebate is $200. The 720 rebate is just $150

No. Whatever it is, it's probably being introduced by your source. What is your source? Do you see it on other sources? How close do you have to be to the screen to see it?

When complaining about stuff like this, it's necessary to give as many details as possible so we can help determine the cause.

I always purchase EW's on major purchases, I have cashed in several times. Pick up a Mack Warranty, very inexpensive and well worth it.

thats a good deal, I wish I would of thought to ask Sears to do that, I really did need a TV stand though so it worked out alright, the tv stand I had before circa 1995 needed to go. haha

If I try watching my P50X1 from a 175 degree angle I start to see a reflection of white lettering on the black background. This gets pretty distracting when I am seated less than 3 feet from the TV.

is it normal when you loose power on the X1 for it to ask you for "First Time Settings" I've lost power a few times and I get this screen and have to grab the remote to clear it. I don't loose any other settings.

"It's also worth noting that with normal program material it was difficult to tell the difference in detail between the Pioneer and the Panasonic 50X1, despite the latter's significantly lower resolution spec (since both are 50-inch plasmas, they provide level ground for comparison). In the highest-detailed areas of our test footage, such as some computer-generated images from our Digital Video EssentialsBlu-ray, we could spot the overall softness in a side-by-side comparison, but in most other sources, including the "Silence" Blu-ray, we could barely differentiate the two from a seating distance of eight feet."

The Pioneer that he mentions is his reference PRO-111FD plasma.

So let's see... He says the X1 is no good but its detail is as good as his favorite TV. Oh, well...

Larry

He never said the X1 was no good, he pretty much said the same thing that all you calibrators have been saying. It's too blue, too red, or too green.

However, I was pleasantly surprised that they also noticed the diagonal lines and contacted Panasonic about it. I also originally thought it was screen door effect when I mentioned it a month ago. It's definitely noticeable under 10 feet.

http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showt...=#post16096100

Possibly it's an issue that can be corrected.

I also thought it was SDE on my 50x1. I'm waiting to see what Panasonic has to say to David. I also hope it's something that can be corrected.

Im curious if its on every set and some are just more sensitive to it or if its only on certain tvs. Because I cant for the life of me see it.

It's like Bill Cosby describing his wife having a conniption...

Same here. It will be interesting to see how Panasonic reacts considering CNET reported the problem in their review. Not that the entire TV buying world reads CNET, but I'm sure it's enough to make Panasonic worry. Plus, everyone who didn't notice it before might notice it now.

He even asked for another tv, and that one had the same lines.

Hey, I just got the TV a few days ago and I love it!

I have been watching it and playing games on it, and when I am not I have been using the Break-In slides.

I do not notice any of the complaints people have been making here. I plan on using D-Nice's SM offsets after the break-in, because I like accurate color representation. Even without the offsets, the picture is great!

Right now, I am using Custom with Normal temperature. I don't think Cinema/warm is bright enough.

I was wondering what everyone thinks about the Noise Reduction feature... on or off? What exactly is it doing?

Thanks guys!

I had my 50px1 delivered 2 hours ago and began showing the break-in slides via sd card. My question is: do the white slide and gray slide colors look a bit pink or lavender(ish) ? It shows up bright white and clear gray on my computer monitor. I have the settings set per D-Nice instructions. Also, I do see diagonal lines, but I'll worry about that later. Just need someone to hold my hand a moment about the lack of clear bright white and gray color.

Since I have just been mentioned in a another post, since I have not seen this phenomenon either on my 50x1 or my 42x1,and since I am a very critical viewer, I will believe my eyes rather than those of a reviewer.

Maybe you and I are the only ones with sets that do not have these mysterious lines, White. Maybe you and I are the lucky ones who got the only good sets.

EDIT: googleme7, references please to the calibrators that say "it's too blue, too red, or too green."

Larry
