Keeping my fingers crossed that all stays well!

just to clarify.....the panels that do have the pioneer buzz issue do not have hidden/micro cracks.

that issue is completely seperate from having a crack(s)/hidden/micro cracks etc in the panel glass. the panel is supposed to be sealed and if it does have crack(s) of any kind it will be doa and have a LOUD buzz almost like a Taser.

Thank you very much for detailing this out for us. Thats why I mentioned not being sure about it, but had heard something like that. This is great info and could be very helpful to those that are worried. Thanks again and take care!

I'M OUT!

Just a little paranoid considering the damage rate of the KRP-600.

Going for the 151 instead

Good excuse to upgrade anyway!

These are definitely not packaged as well as any other Kuro. And please dont think I am trying to bash as I am neutral but this is a fact and all the dealers I spoke to agree. Just trying to educate as that makes sense now.

Add another KRP-600M to the NOT cracked side.

Received it today from NV. Build date Oct 08. On pallet, box looked great. Picture looks perfect. No buzz. I already have it mounted on the wall!

Thanks for the updates/additions. Congrats on getting some good panels and show us some pics when you get them .

bash:
Sorry to see you give up on the 600M, but at least you moved up a tick higher on the sweetness scale . There are plenty of these 600M owners that would probably like to buy your speakers...lol....so you can recoup some of that extra green you put out if you wanted to . Enjoy that bad boy!

On another note, my panel was produced in Jan '09. I see quite a few people mentioning their manufacturer dates, so I just wanted to add mine. Thanks!

Got mine delivered today via Fedex from NV. Perfect! It was on a pallet, box in good shape, visual inspection shows no cracks, will get it mounted tomorrow!

Thank you to everyone on this forum, I can't believe I have one of these.

Thanks to Alex at Invision, he made this purchase easy.

What a plasma, what a price!

For my wall mount of the 600M I used the Chief LSAU:

http://www.chiefmfg.com/productdetail.aspx?MountID=237

I needed to slide my TV about 5" down the wall last night because of some furniture and this was easy with this mount.

I used the Sanus VMPL3B. It's nice and flush with the wall. The lock downs on the lower portion of the bracket is kind of a pain but once it's up it looks really good.

I have two more updates to report for the thread. One good and one bad.

Replacement 600M came cracked on Tuesday. This one was from PA and was refused on the spot.

We gave up on the 600M and decided to switch to a 500M. That arrived on Friday and looks to be working fine. After three deliveries, we finally got a good one!

Shame you had to switch models after all the hassle, but the 500M is supposed to be awesome according to D-Nice, so enjoy that bad boy!

Strike two. My second 600M cracked..Shipped from same Milwaukee warehouse, Pilot Air shipping. box was fine, not on a crate.....screen had spider cracks all over it. Hopefully number three will be the charm...if not, I'll probably move on....the waste associated with this TV is starting to get to me...

Man, I am sorry to hear that. Even though it looks like the numbers are getting better, it still almost seems like a crap shoot, and that sucks! I hope three's a charm. Let us know and good luck sir!

I know...

Pioneer probably doesn't care, as they are out the game.

They do care but they should of thought about packing these things WAY better than they did. But it was supposed to be a custom install unit so thats why its not meant to be shipped much

Roman,

Not sure that I understand that comment, how is there any less shipping getting it to an installer that then has to transport to the end user; as opposed to shipping it direct to the end user?

Its one thing to pickup from distributor and then check for damage and then install it locally but its just an extra time shipping them and its allot easier to catch it locally Again I am just speaking the facts so dont kill the messenger These are great units and great value!

I do agree partially with your comment, but I believe it is no excuse for Pioneer to package their displays like they did with the KRP series. What surprises me is that their are a low number of damage claims made on their 101 and 141, as they are intended as similar displays.

What I believe happen is that this happen to be a cost cutting measure on Pioneer's part. It has nothing to do with the card board box (outer shell), but more to do with the internal packaging.

Another cracked screen 600m delivered today to Cary, NC and refused from Federal Express, ordered March 14, shipped from Sparks NV on 3/20. I'm giving Alex another try, hopefully shipping from Louisville KY location this time. Upgrade itis replacing my 2002 Pio 503CMX working fine but the 600m looked gorgeous. Fingers crossed.

Perhaps. I wonder how that is working out for them
