I've had a Pioneer KRP-500A, here in Singapore(the guy at shop told me that I got one of the last 2 available), for almost exactly 3 years now.B4 that I was using a Sony 40in LCD and the Pioneer (the model prior to the KRP-500A) was going for a dollar short of S$15,000 then.Though I could afford it the price put me off.I thought to myself that it couldn't possibly be 3 times as good as the SONY.
Boy was I wrong, the Sony while good in bright scenes and the like, it was terrible with dark scenes.
Sadly, recently I realized that I had burnt in the borders by watching too many 2.35:1 movies.Never 'broke in the tv' as suggested for the 1st 200hrs.I only used the tv to watch movies(blu ray and hd dvd)Price I have to pay for being inexperienced? S$2200 , for a replacement panel coming from Japan in a month's time.Again ,lucky to get the spare as Pioneer, I'm sure you all know, has stopped making TVs
My advise to all those who own a Pioneer, hold onto it, cherish it.The best thus far.
