You have to take all the comments with a grain of salt. The best judge of the tv is yourself. Like you said, you can return it within 30 days if you really don't like it.

All we (the gamers) want is OUR important, tangible stat to be reported like the ones everyone else does.

To answer the gamers with "use game mode", doesn't tell me, a tournament Street Fighter player, if this is the TV I want to sink my 3000+ dollars in. If game mode is still lagging by 3 or more frames, I probably don't want it. The new technology may help or hinder the input lag.

All display reviewers: TEST INPUT LAG! Gamers want good TVs, too!

I think he doesn't understand that all plasmas buzz. Some are just louder than others. S2 I have buzzes during bright scenes. Its lower than the buzz on any of the Kuros, but that's because of that third layer of glass. I expect the G20/25 and VT20/25 displays to buzz louder than the S2 because they do not have the additional layer of glass. Its all because of how plasmas generate light.

Yeah, it's like how CRTs have that super high frequency whine sometimes, where you KNOW someone left the TV on even if you're in another room.

So to what degree are you seeing changes on the S2? How much have you aged it so far?

I just turned on my new 42" g25!!! Got it from Electronics Expo in NJ. It is not in stores yet but a small deposit delivered it the next day from their warehouse, also in Nj. I cannot connect wireless usb adapter to the internet. Hardwire ethernet works great and the picture is unreal!!! Any help with connecting the usb adapter? The set doesnt recognize it. Panny is working with me on the issue, but its so new that they need to figure it out. Manufacture date is Feb, 2010.

Completely off topic, but I can't stand that noise! In my opinion, that's more annoying than ANY buzz I've ever heard from a plasma panel! I've had people over that couldn't even hear it, though. Odd...

If anybody is interested, I got a notice from Amazon. The 58" and 65" V10s are back in stock at Amazon. The 58 is $2149. When I had my order in for a 58V10 4 weeks ago my price was $2290 something. This might help give some perspective to the 2010 prices.

According to the manual, there is supposed to be a list of compatible adapters here.

I will buy some set this year, but which set depends entirely on how much this bug is still in effect. I think obtaining that information will be really really difficult for some time. How fast a rise, how high? The only way will be to wait for a statistically significant number of others to buy the set and age it and measure it.

If the bug is still there, I'll go cheap and small this year (50" perhaps). What really irks me is that I'm considering the G2X for this holdover purchase. I can't stand the thought that I might actually reward Panasonic by buying a holdover set this year and then coming back in 2011 or 2012 to buy a bigger more expensive set when they've fixed the defect.

-Jim

I just wish I had a time machine which would allow me to go one year into future and read up upon D-Nice, Cnet and other ppl or review outlet's "aged" impression on that set so that if everything is all right I could just come back and preorder the set otherwise buy another company's panel.

Coming soon...

Me too, that's where I'm at. I need a TV.

I did find this quote in Hi Def:

"Dnice has said that it was by design and therefor could not be fixed. However, I would like to believe that since it is designed in the software and not a hardware issue per se than it can be fixed with some creative programming. As Panasonic has publicly acknowlaged the potential problem I would think that they are sure to be hard at work finding a solution"

The comment is a couple weeks old and dated. Maybe Mr. Nice can comment if it could be a software update that could come to 2009 and just made 2010 sets. If true, maybe the yet to be manufactured sets would have the update?

I will check the hours on the panel tonight. The rise, by the numbers, is minor but it is definitely higher than previous readings.

Panasonic don't need a time machine, they have other ways to get "aged" impression (just like they don't need 100,000 hours to prove Plasma Life span), problem is they won't release their test result

If that is indeed true, perhaps it would be a benefit to launch a barrage of complaints to Panasonic support to show the strength and large number of dissatisfied Panasonic customers who are affected by this. There is always "strength in numbers".

Have you heard anything additional on arrival dates on the 54's (G25 or VT25)? I'm hoping you'll say you've got 100 of each in stock

The 58" is back up in price on Amazon...65 is too. This wouldn't seem a very good method for cleaning out existing inventory.
