Alright, so the design on these is a little...underwhelming...but let's hope the performance makes everyone forget about that.

I do like the fact that there are more non-reflective bezels these days though.

Isn't the bezel still glossy black?

I am glad I didn't wait to see what was in store for 2010... I love my 58V10. If I want to watch 3D, I'll go to the movie theaters... thank you very much!

BTW, if you haven't watched Avatar in IMAX 3D, you're missing a great cinematic experience... I have watched TDK, Transformers and Star Trek in IMAX but Avatar has taken it up several notches... awesome to watch!

I think the V series has a brushed metal bezel--which I'm assuming won't be reflective.

I think the new top-tier Samsung has a brushed metal bezel as well.

Look like the S2 series will have a blue trim a la Samsung's ToC red trim. I hate that! That alone will force me to G series if I decide to upgrade from my current 54S1!

Why do these tv makers insist that "we" want rainbow colored tvs?

why can't it be a simple black rectangle clean design like the Pioneers?

I agree looks are important but they are a distant second from picture quality.

The V series has a metalic bronze finish and the S series has a matt bezel. All of the models have a new AR coating are "green" and have improved blacks, whites along with very low power consumption.

Some people may not think a lot about Viera cast but they have a lot of new functionality and I look forward to seeing my grand daughter live.

To me, these 2010 panels look perfectly acceptable, especially the V. G. and D. models. They have clean lines, and are nicely understated looking.

When did so many people turn into interior decorators, on this forum?! More and more people are whining about the look of the housing, instead of being interested in the technical merits of the displays.

If it is cosmetic counter style, garish translucent housings you are after, then Samsung has what you are after, and so does LG.

Since the G13s' Viera Cast mentions things like Netflix, is it safe to assume that those of us with V10's will be able to see those upgrades via firmware or simply as they update the Viera Cast user interface? I noticed there are blocks that show "coming soon" so hopefully those will house the additions like Netflix.

After seeing this lineup I'm still happy with my 58" V10 purchase. Especially considering I was upgrading from a 2001 Toshiba 4:3 RP set so I'm still stoked.

The V series

"An impressive design with a cool metallic finish that symbolizes the beginning of 3D entertainment."

Ther G series

"A stunning design with gradation applied to the lower front area to create a floating effect."

I like it , will get the 54 in G or V

So would I be correct in assuming the 2010 V & G series will be using a different panel than the S series since the native contrast is 5000000:1 on the V&G vs 2000000:1 on the S series? The 2009 G & S series used the same NeoPDP.

The following graphic suggest that panasonic has adopted Space discharge to reset the panel each frame.

It also suggests they are accomplishing this by having an electron emitting material on top of the phosphor (bottom of cell).

Both of these are what makes KURO

P.S. - The graphic also suggests (confirms) that the panels are not infinite contrast (zero black)

yeah can not make a purchase untill late spring , so I know the new panny's will be out and the Kuro will be gone , just can't swing the $ right now. I have a 4270 and the new Panny's should still be and upgrade , and I will go 54 or 58 .

Haha, so much for all of the dudes on AVS blaming the Mrs. for this or that. Now we know the real story

perhaps that marketing (everywhere) sometimes takes some liberties...

http://hdguru.com/ces-2009-panasonic...el-series/354/
"new cell structure"
"infinite black panel"

...karl, who can at least google some things...

Yes, no problem. I can delete the post if it is misleading or confusing. Let me know.
