Will do.

Well, after being up Samsung's ass since nov about getting ANOTHER replacement panel, they decided to just give me a new 60f5500. The stand is crap but it has a pretty good picture. Not sure if it's as good as my 58c7000 yet, need to watch more.
At least the pink nightmare is over (crosses fingers)!

My 50 C8000 died 2 days before the Super Bowl. The only info I got from Samsung was that my set was out of warranty and that I was basically on my own. A local Samsung dealer sent it out to a repair facility in nearby Mass. and I was just told that it is a power supply board and it will be $340 to repair it. The same dealer made a nice deal with me and sent me home the day before the Bowl with a 51 inch 5500 which he offered to buy back after I got the 8000 repaired. After spending 2 weeks with the new set I told the retailer that it was OK but could not match the picture on the 8000 and he agreed that it was a great set.

Anyone else have a similar story?

The 60f5500 they replaced my 58c7000 with is pretty nice and I haven't calibrated it yet. It's quieter, better blacks, good colors, doesn't put out anywhere near the heat the c7000 did, 2" bigger...no pink menace. So far so good (knock on wood), hopefully doesn't have the reliability issues of my old set.

I saw the "service bulletin" and got excited, but then deflated when I saw that nobody has access to these files. I have a pn63c8000 and have had pink banding for almost a year. I bought the item refurbished originally, so I'm screwed when it comes to expecting Samsung to fix it. I signed the petition, but I really hope that someone figures out how to get the correct logic files for it.

Wasn't there some sort of "firmware hacking" group/app somewhere for these TV's? I think it was called Sammygo? Any luck with their methods being usable to upgrade the logic s/w? I would really love to get this damn pink crap off my screen anytime I watch hockey.

Depending on your location and the service facility you speak to you could have a good conversation and have the S/W update applied and the voltage adjusted. You need to be very sure that they understand the information in that service bulletin. Not all of them do. I really believe that is a 3d party TSB but that part of the service procedure requires access to the Samsung service portal.

Is your display "on the wall" or on the stand?

Just wondered if anyone else ever got anything in the mail from Samsung offering an extended warranty. Sure glad we took them up on the offer...

Mine is the 58 inch model.

The issue I have is with the appearance of flickering horizontal purple striations along the top right half of the screen whenever the background holds on bright white.

The flicker is continuous and has expanded with time to reach the screen's mid-line but it always disappears when the color changes. This happens on all modes

whether watching television or surfing the web.

Edit - I too appear to suffer from the pink band issue reported by so many others. Petition signed. Thanks.

I signed the petition . Just a FYI to everyone I had the purple until yesterday. I signed up for a protection plan through my satellite tv provider which covers tvs and thee devices and them come out and service my pn58c8000 plasma tv . And Alls the guy did was install a new logic firmware and walla no more banding!

No one has the access to the samsung service portal but there seems to be a lot of people who have had great results with the voltage change.
That pink banding bulletin is the exact same problem I have been having on my PN58C8000 for quite a while now. I agree with everyone it is ridiculous that a $2XXX TV goes to crap in a little over a year. I have just been dealing with it and watching it as is, but it seems to only be getting worse.

Anyone get their hands on that firmware or ask Samsung for it? Seems like that may fix it. The bulletin also talks about adjusting the voltage, anyone know how to do this or is there a step-by-step thread out there showing the procedure?

Found it in another thread...
A shame Samsung hasn't stepped up their game on this one yet, I bought this TV knowing Samsung was a top of the line TV and I paid a premium at the time. Change.org signed.

My parents have a PN63C7000 and I have not seen the pink banding yet. It is wall mounted, and they do not use it often. Is it only a matter of time or do some never have the problem?

I ask the technician if the firmware was public , he said no only a samsung service man can access the logic firmware from the Samsung service website. I have had this tv since 2009 and I had a 4 year warranty . After 2 years I got the purple banding and the panel was replaced and 2 months later it was replaced a second time for the purple banding and then 3 months later it came back and I asked for a buyout of the warranty . They ended up giving me $1200 and I got to keep the tv. Fast forward I added a device plan from my satellite tv company hoping they would replace it again , and now it's fixed with a simple firmware. It cost me $50 for the service call! So now no more banding and the picture is actually better also.

I can't believe we can not find a Samsung service tech that will post the logic file...
