Can't make much out of this really besides the LED seeming darker than the Plasma.

All I do know is that I watched Samsung and Panasonic (Samsung both in LED and Plasma)

Samsung has bad ghosting when stuff moves on the screen in 3D that annoyed me after less than a minute of watching. The funny thing is that I saw the ghosting on the LED which I expected but the same ghosting on the Plasma which I had NOT expected.

The ghosting sucked so bad that any other image quality considerations became kind of irrelevant to me, at least when it comes to 3D.

In everything I've read the Panny trounces the LCD. One review also mentioned the Samsung has to be viewed bolt upright while you can watch the Plasma reclining and still see the same 3D.

So far no contest: Panasonic.

What he said. No contest at all, Panny plasma versus Samsung LED for 3D!

Anyone who's seen these two in action will testify that Panasonic 3D is leaps and bounds ahead of any LCD/LED out there.

I think he means the LED will win at the cash register, and he's probably right...sadly.

Well that's a given, seeing as how:

1. I've seen the Samsung 3D HDTV commercials run about 18 times for the one time I saw a Panasonic ad.

2. The kids working at the big box stores somehow got it stuck in their heads that plasma is an inferior, dead technology and tell their customers the same.

3. Samsung seems to always have the best placement in big box stores.

Not to mention the fact that Plasma 3D is the same everywhere, not just sitting directly in front of the screen. LCD, you want to move to the side? OOPS What to lie down on the couch? OOPS

it's not that i myself don't like 3D, it's that i would rather watch it on a big movie theater screen or home projector not on 50 inch plasma or lcd even 65 inch doesn't seem like it would be big enough for me to want a 3d tv some day. so far i have only seen the samsung 3d tv's when they first came out and i was not impressed at all. i thought the 3d on the samsung was a slight step up from the old version with the colored glasses. if 3d is to stay they need to make a universal format like what happened with hd-dvd and blu-ray, second they need to make it so the average joe can afford it and last an most important thing is they need lots of content a few blu ray 3d movies or a couple of 3d station showing a couple of 3d programs over a years time will not work and will end 3d so fast it won't be funny. hell half the time they can't even get HD correct on some programing. to be totally honest i would rather see 1080p programing over 3d any day. just my 2 cents anyway

I saw the Samsung 3D at B&H and the Panasonic at Magnolia(BB). To me, I can see 3D giving me a headache over time. Comparing the two the Panasonic looked more "natural" looking to me, easier on the eyes. BUT, the Panasonic glasses were so uncomfortable to wear, heavy on the bridge of my nose. The Samsung glasses were so light, I hardly knew I was wearing them.

Exactly. If I want 3D I will see it at the theater. 2 hours with those stupid glasses on is about my limit.

My life is an open book...wish I could read it and have it make sense.

Who knows? There are still people who say CRT is the best display hardware and LP the best music software.
At this stage of rapid technological development and hence rapid obsolescence, maybe it is better NOT to look around and enjoy what you got unless you, like many here, are middle class av enthusiasts. With 3D coming, it may be the best time cost-wise to look for a 2D TV in coming months.
Seriously, with no 3D broadcast announcement from local broadcasters/cable TV providers and dearth of 3D movie/concert software, patience is a virtue. Even when 3D is everywhere, it may not be the best policy to buy the most expensive 3D hardware given the rapid obsolescence these days (OLED, deep colour, glass-free 3D, resolution higher than 1920x1080 not to mention other unexpected invention/crisis).
