You can get it for less thru One Call. I got my 50pk950 last week for $1099 delivered with no tax to NY.

Anyone have any problems with their OneCall delivery?

The 50PK950 I ordered from One Call just arrived on Friday via Yellow Freight. I agree with many of the other posters here who were happy with their One Call experience. While I did not pay extra for the White Glove service, the delivery guy did bring it up to my front door via 2-wheel cart and then we carried it into my living room, and he waited while I checked the condition of the box (less than perfect, but not bad), the Shockwatch (clean), and finally inspected the TV itself (no damage).

Aside from the excellent shipping experience, I cannot say enough about the customer support I received from One Call. I placed my order with Chad G, who followed up with me via email several times on a variety of topics: ensuring my credit card billing address matched the address of my new home, setting up my order for the TV when it went on sale, yet holding it for delivery until we were able to move two weeks later, etc. All in all, one of the most positive online purchase experiences I've had in the past 10 years of buying online. Could not be happier!

Just pulled the trigger on the 50PK950 with Onecall. Those of you who have ordered from Onecall recently, what build dates is Onecall shipping on these units?

Onecall, "Huppins" is local here in Spokane WA. When I went to pick up my 50PK950 they had about 12 of them in the back.. They had build dates from July - Aug 2010. I grabbed one from Aug.

This TV doesn't have the issue of artificial sharpening and incorrect 24p cadence that pk750 has correct?

Were there any firmware updates for the Aug. builds? Mine is shipping from their WV warehouse.

The 950p handles 24p correctly with a 3:3 at 72Mhz.

I have not seen any artificial sharpening, I believe LG may have fixed it a couple of firmwares ago.

Thanks for the suggestion though.

Gibby's (St. Catharines, Ontario) has about 9 of the 50PK950 left for $1,099. They ship for about $50/60 and can check your unit prior to shipment.

Good choice and good reasoning!!

If that price is with a brick and mortar store with a 30 day return policy, then go for it. Better to be 100% happy with the new TV, then to having just a few minutes to decide if the TV is defective (nearly impossible to do) or has been damaged while being shipped by an internet dealer. The lower internet price is not worth the stress and worry!

Yes, the wireless adapter is included, plus some multimedia broadcasting software. Having said that, it is just as easy to show your photos with a USB memory stick.

I price-matched my 50PK950 through Best Buy Magnolia. The TV is perfect and I have no regrets as I had 30 days to verify that all was well. It has little or none of the many plasma flaws that we have read so much about on this forum!!

My only complaint was no analog audio output as I just want stereo sound for now, however, the built-in Mark Levinson sound system is quite good, especially if you set the sound range from the cable box to "narrow".

After seeing much fewer complaints this TV has against it than the PK550, reading how great the picture is and the deep black levels, correct 24p handling, pretty good anti-reflective screen, the list goes on. CNET rated it in their top performing 2010 Plasmas, and gave it a very positive review.

It has THX picture modes which is cool, and plenty of picture adjustments to be made.

I see that the Wi-Fi adapter is included in the box, is that correct?

I am getting it price matched to $1249 so I think that's a good price for it. Let's hope I have a positive experience with this one. I do not desire a repeat of my experience with the PK550.

Are there any recommended settings here or should I buy a calibration disc?

Confusion here??? flatpanelshd.com listed the PK950 as the second best TV for the living room. 1st place went to the Panasonic VT25. What's so bad about being the second best display at almost half the price? Comments from Chris at Cleveland Plasma on this thread support this as well.

After about a month of use of my PK950, I strongly disagree with a few comments made in the flatpanelshd.com review. I have had no, zero, nada issues with image retention, there is no problem with image stabilization if one turns off automatic contrast and the built-in Mark Levinson audio is quite good if you optimize the input audio settings.

I do not understand why flatpanels said that there were problems with HD on the PK950. HD looks GREAT on this TV (limited only by the quality of the source), easily beating out the G25 with all of its problems!!!

Has anyone heard any further information on when the Plex app will be functioning with LG TVs and if it will be available for this model? I am close to buying one myself but the Plex integration is a big selling point for me.

Okay, I'm going to be ordering this today. Anyone have issues of bad image retention while watching Showtime with their "SHOHD" station logo burning in?? Also I was watching F1 on sunday and noticed that the F1 logo and lap counter never moved the 4 hours. Can those be wiped?

I have not played games for hours on end, however, my wife did play with some of the simple games that came with the TV firmware. I have been looking for any image retention with TV station logos. In our case. there has been no image retention that I can see. My picture settings are similar to the THX settings.

Some reviews were suggesting that IR would be a problem and I suppose if someone play the same game for two hours in vivid mode that there would be some IR, but I do not do this.

Any 50PK950 owners care to share what settings they recommend? Anyone have opinions on the settings on flatpanelshd.com or those of David Katzmaier from CNET? Expecting delivery of mine Fri.

Hey guys, I'm pulling my hair out trying to decided if I should get the PK950 or the LE8500 LED!?!? I can get the LE8500 for less than the PK950 but I've been starring at both TV's for days and I can't decide on one.. My biggest factors are PQ and gaming. Please help before I go bald!

Personally, I would not buy an LED tv at this time due to the viewing angles. That to me is the key drawback that keeps me coming back to plasma.

My replacement should arrive today!

Thank you for contacting LG Electronics

"Plex will be available in next year's models. We have heard no information as to whether this year's models will have it incorporated. I do not believe your TV will ever get Plex as I believe the Plex operating system requires hardware not found in current models."

The flatpanelshd settings worked just fine for my evening viewing. In fact, my evening viewing is so "darn" close to perfect so I simply cannot see the sense in paying so much more for a Pioneer or Panny VT25. Seriously. The PK950 is that good.

I used the second expert settings to add a little more punch for viewing during bright daylight.
