I have been reading up on both tvs, and I recently came across the Panasonic thread about the floating black bars. Is that a feature that is just fixes over time?
I have also been looking at the sony 52EX700 because both of those tvs i can get a really good deal. I own a 42 pioneer elite and I am going to be going to one of these sets for the game room. I watch tv mostly at night so reflections is not an issue at all for me.

The things connecting to this new TV are:
Denon 3808CI Receiver
Mac-Mini with DVI-HDMI cable
PS3
XboX360
Denon 1930Ci - DVD player

Any input would be helpful with this

Despite all of it's flaws the Panasonic will still have much better picture quality.

Yes go with the Panny (although personally I would go with the LG PK 550/540). I received the 46NX700 from Sony back in March and that set was AWFUL! The EX700 is similar in that they both are Edge LED. The NX700 had the worst viewing angle (literally moving your head side to side and the colors would shift!), not too mention flashlighting and some other screen uniformity problems. I got rid of it as soon as I could and decided to get my first plasma, the LG PK 540. I love it!

actually i have a way better deal then that 1 with 3 years Panasonic warranty. The question I had for the owners was that are those floating blacks on every G25 or are they on some of them like the G10 and degrading black.

Also would breaking in the television with that DVD help prevent the floating blacks?
