Good morning all.. New member here.

I have a 5 year old Panasonic TH-42PX50U Plasma that apparently was zapped by a surge from my faulty Direct Tv DVR. When we power it on we get the 6 blinking red lights. I have done some research through another website and see that it is most likely the SU

Actually the closest current model to the 42PX50U is the 42" X24 that's sold at Costco for about $500.

Can you get DirecTV to pay to have your TV repaired since it's their equipment that ruined it?
