Ok, I feel I did a fair amount of homework on TVs before buying this one.
Let me start off by saying my eyes arent good enough to tell the difference in a 720 or 1080 and some TVs depending on brand I like LED, Plasma, LCD. I cant find a certain make that actually blows me away.

I like these brands, Samsung, Vizio, Sharp, LG, Panasonic.

What Im wanting to know is are there other TVs out there that are just as good if not better than the PN58C500 which is a 58" Samsung Plasma 1080
I cant say what I got it for cause I think its site rules but Im sure a lot of you can figure where I bought it from coming from a local retailer.

Im moving up from a Pansonic 50PX80. Just a Panny 50" Plasma 720p
So I wanted atleast a 58" because it didnt look like a 55" was a big enough increase over my 50

So experts please point me towards a TV that may make me want to take this one back. I would be willing to spend 1500-1800 if it was a 3D TV but I dont think there are any in the size I want for that price?

Heres one I was looking at which would only cost me $100 more for it, its a LG Model 60PK540
Actually itd be about $100 cheaper because it would come with a 2yr warranty from the retailer instead of me having to purchase an extended warranty

.. actually, both models would be good buys; the LG screen filter (if it has one) is not up to Samsung's, so there's some reflection.

Otherwise, both models have very good following here.

Minor detractions: LG's quality control (QC) from the factory & with Samsung, the possiblity of having one that 'buzzes'.

Buying local (for exchange purposes) would be wize option.

That's a pretty decent mid-level TV for the price. Of course there are better TVs out there, but you're going to pay more and most of the better TVs will have 3D.

Did your homework include reading this 58C500 thread?

ahh I knew that thread was somewhere on here but I couldnt find it after searching for some reason?

So you guys would stick with the 58" Samsung? Instead of getting that 60" LG for about $100-150 less.
