Why does plasmas do a double image on 30fps games etc?
Is the response time just too fast?

TBH I don't know the technical reasons, and I haven't seen anyone else properly describe why it happens, but don't worry, it happens to every TV. Even the KUROs have the double image from 30fps games, it's just a side effect of the game, not the TV

Cause before i thought it was motion blur but on a closer look i saw there was a double image. Really annoying, i hope they make 60fps only games in the future

30fps games have only recently become annoying to look at, because everyone now owns 40" screen TVs and bigger, and the resolution is becoming sharper... Back when everyone had 17" CRTs, no one cared, because the "double image" effect wasn't smeared 2-inches across the small screen. What game are you playing anyway

LCD doesn't fix the problem. With LCD get blur or you can use frame interpoation but that adds a lot more input lag plus artifacts. If you use game mode on LCD, frame interpoation is the first thing to go. Your only hope is to switch to pc gaming and run all your games at higher frame-rates.

What you are seeing is most likely the games fault, not the TV. I've played most of the games you listed on my LG 50PK550 (Killzone 2 and 3, Heavy Rain, Dead Space 2 and also RE5 which you showed in the video), and while it is noticeable if I look for it, I typically am more focused on the game. Story is more important to me than graphics, and I can deal with things like lack of V-Sync or low textures if I find the game appealing enough.

This is likely a limitation of technology. If you find it really bothersome, you may want to consider going to PC gaming. You aren't going to find 60fps games becoming the norm on the current gen consoles. There hasn't really been talk of next gen consoles coming out in the near future. Probably not until 2013 at the earliest.

While it may be an issue to you, you're overreacting a bit in my opinion. It does not make the games unplayable for the majority of people (on AVS included). I would think DLP rainbows or ghosting in stereoscopic 3D games to more of a deterrent than a minor amount of judder.

Alright, hopefully it will diminish a bit in time. But it is normal right?
It is just really annoying for me coming from a CRT that had no problems and it was very small, so when i got the big TV i saw all the flaws.

Some 30fps games are using frame blending techniques to make the framerate seem smoother. It has nothing to do with your display.

RE5, in particular, is known for this. It seems you've noticed that.

I don't even have RE5, it was a video i found haha.
For example playing Dead Space 2, panning around while you see text or other things i can see the double image that looks like blur.

I noticed the same thing going from a 34" CRT to LCD & Plasma but I got used to it, nothing out there is better than a CRT when it comes to motion clarity.

IIRC a lot of game have Motion Blur, which is a filter in the game that makes thing blurry when the picture moves. I remember for example i had this on Crysis (PC) so it is not console only. It also annoyed me somehow so i disabled it in the settings, not sure if you can do that on a console.

Also a good point .. I recorded this video off a CRT and you can see the frame doubling effect used in RE5 when panning the camera http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xzCapovsAnc

Thing is i notice this double image on all 30fps games, never saw it on my LCD
Alot of people say they don't even see it.
Can someone tell me if this is normal for all 30fps games on a plasma or if it is a defective TV or something?

How many times are you going to ask the same question? It has been answered many times in your many threads.

Why are plasma "oh-so-good" for gaming when 30fps games looks like crap? Majority of games are 30fps.

It happens in all 30 fps games, regardless of display type. Because of inherent motion blur on LCD it is less noticeable. If you want smooth motion. Be prepared to pay for it in input lag, typical motion interpolation systems add tons, making games mostly unplayable.

Because plasmas offer less input lag and better motion handling over an LCD. If a game looks like crap on a plasma then it will still look like crap on an LCD. I don't know how that's so hard to understand.

If it annoys you then sell your TV and get something that you'd prefer. But posting redundant questions on the same issue even though it's been answered more than a few times is not helping your cause.
