I'll admit, it's a little confusing how Panasonic labels the ST30 as far as wifi goes. It's labeled as being 'Wifi Ready', which has historically meant you had to buy your own wifi dongle. I realize they mean that it is not 'built in', but "Wifi Ready (dongle included)" in their marketing material would have been much clearer.

Based on comments here and elsewhere online, I was pretty sure there was one in the box. However, I was not 100% sure the 50ST30 came with a dongle until I unpacked mine and actually found it.

Forgive me if I missed it (I searched back the last five or six pages and didn't see anything), but has there been any update on the 60-class yet?

Thanks!

My 42ST30 is being delivered this afternoon; can't wait!!

Saw my first 55 ST30 in person last night. This TV was pretty damn good from what I saw. A couple of us played Killzone 3 3D with the move gun.. This TV is def awesome with 3D games... Didnt see cable or Blu ray though..

Yup, it had an 802.11n dual band wifi dongle and a USB extension with weighted base in the box. I'm sure best best either doesn't know what they're selling, or are hoping they can sell yet another overpriced accessory.

As for 4 HMDI connectors if you have that much AV gear you should surely have a AVR to handle the switching. If not, get an HDMI switch; they are pretty cheap now. Everything new may be HDMI, but that doesn't mean everyone still only uses HDMI. People still use old gaming consoles, older DVD players, etc, and if the set didn't come w/ component and composite I think you'd have even more unhappy customers.

I don't want to buy an AVR for my bedroom when I'm just using the TV's sound, but I also don't want to use a switcher since they are unreliable and may not pass 1.4, plus that's another thing for my IR dongle to manage. I just want to hook my DVR, Bluray, and gaming console to my TV through the wall.

I'm not saying remove other connections, just add at least 3 HDMI to the back of the panel. They are very small and could not be that much extra $$.

The only way I can see someone buying from there, is if online business's dont have the tv they want, or the convenience of a local store. Even if thats true, that convenience is worthless when the people who work there charge you much higher prices and not honor your extended warranty.

I usually use BB as my "Amazon Showroom" Check out the goods, then get online and order with Prime shipping. This time around, I had a large sum gift card to BB as part of a big purchase at Rooms to Go.

Otherwise, I always go Amazon + Square Trade Warranty.

I agree. I think it's just another differentiator in the pricing model.. an incentive, although a lame one, for buying a higher end model.

If you don't want to go with an AVR in the bedroom, then I think the HDMI switch is your best bet unfortunately.

nah my best bet is my right angle plug I already have for my 26" Panny LCD. I just wish I could keep it fully clean on the back, but oh well. :-\\

many thanks for the photos! Can you direct me to the mount that you got? I'll be putting the plates in the middle of the area behind the panel, so I am looking for one with an open spot there.

Honestly, I have no idea what mount I have because I bought it about 4 years ago from wal-mart. Just go and buy the cheapest flush wall mount you can find. Don't overpay for this item.

Just got my other ST30 today. Yet again I got the same guy that delivered it. Box was in better shape. But the foam inside was badly damage.

He had it secured this time. But to no avail. The screen was fine. But the back was smashed in with the bezel flopping.

I did some cursing at Amazon... They lied to me... They did not pack it better as they stated.

How ever they said they will this time. We shall see again. The saga continues.

If pilot delivers make sure to inspect it. Even if they try to rush you.

I would suggest... If there is a Best Buy, HH Gregg or any other big named store. Go to them and ask if they price match. Buy it there... Because online is just horrible. You have to wait week(s) to get anything done.

Waiting for my 3rd TV... Will get it next Wednesday. I do not have high hopes.

On the bright side I got $60 free from Amazon. $30 each from both of the TV being broken.

Man I got pilot coming out next week. What state are you in? So Cal? I already had to push the delivery a week because of work, this will be a major pain if my tv comes damaged.

You would think these guys would get their act together.

Good call.

I bought my Pioneer from BuyBestPlasma (Roman) in Seattle, which shipped from AZ to Chicago in pristine condition via Yellow. I think Amazon needs to figure out a different delivery service.

I'm from PA. So, it's a long haul from AZ or from JP to Mexico to AZ to me.

Amazon can keep losing money for all I care. I'll have them send 5 million TV's till they get it right.

The ST is poorly packed and yet they don't care. Just shipping it with thin foam at the top = gonna prob be broken.

I just hope you get yours intacted. Because this really does suck.

Hi guys! How does the ST30 compare to the LG PK950? I had the g25 for a month but I couldn't stand the floating blacks so I got rid of it and I have been waiting since then to get me a good Panasonic 2011 TV. I'm looking at both the ST30 and PK950 but I really love deep blacks so how does these TVs compare?

Any input would be helpful!

Looks good man. Get that one. I bought mine for a lot more than that 4 years ago. Seems like the prices of mounts have come down.

Best Buy doesn't match website prices from online retailers.

No, it's not grainy to me, but yes, it has grain. Movies have grain. Unless that movie is Avatar. But if your S2 is very grainy looking, then turn down your sharpness.

Yes sir. And I have almost 60 hours on it as we speak. I've been breaking it in with a contrast at 50 on Standard. But every now and then, I'll actually watch my tv and put it to the Custom setting with a Contrast at 95, Brightness at 60, Color at 52, Tint at 0, and Sharpness at 38. That's what you're seeing right there.

And thank you!

Its unfortunate that some of you have had bad delivery experiences, but I think its a bit unfair to make broad generalizations like "Pilot sucks!" or "Amazon sucks!".

In the past 6 months, I've ordered a 73" DLP, two 47" LCDs, and now the 50" ST30 -- all from Amazon and shipped via Pilot. And every single time, the box (aside from a few superficial scuff marks) arrived in perfect condition. And of course, the TV was perfectly fine too.

As for the Pilot delivery guys, of the two times that I could see them unloading the TV from their truck, they had the box standing upright and properly strapped in. The only negative I can say is that the delivery guys were always in a hurry (which is understandable) and they never mentioned anything about inspecting the TV. I had to proactively ask them to give me 5 minutes so I could unpack and inspect the TV. But even so, they were fine with it and never gave me any attitude about it.

So ultimately, what I guess I'm trying to say is its not the company that sucks, but its the individuals involved in your chain of delivery that suck.

And if anyone is wondering, I live in Northern Virginia. And the TVs came from Phoenix PHX and arrived at Dulles IAD.

^^ good points pooh (chuckle)

When my Pioneer came, the guy helped me take it up three flights of stairs and let me unbox and plug it in to make sure it worked. Great guy, from Yellow. I think I tipped him, I can't remember.
