There is now an F4500 being released as the newer model, but in the same basic price range you can now get a 51F5300 that gives you better pic quality in full 1080p resolution. So I would choose the entry level 1080p version.

Anyone have the calibration from this site http://www.televisioninfo.com/content/samsung-pn51d450-plasma-hdtv-review.htm

it was perfect for my set but I had to reset it, now the website has taken down the settings.

People were having problems with floating blacks on the pnd450,and trying different firmwares too see if it corrected it.Not sure if theres one that works best for this.

I'm not sure if it would work for the 51..I'm guessing yes but id hate too see you brick or degrade your tv.

Hello Everyone,

I've been following this thread for a long time and for me i find it full of information. Thank you to all at AVSForum with all your settings. Now, I want to help someone back. Bosoxi I'll give you what you've been asking for but i prefer another form of contact as this will create a very long post on my behalf. Unless if any Administrator can post a, Yes or give me permission to post it here, I will as well.

Hello, first post here and sorry in advance for messing up. I have a pn51d450a2d that buzzes like clockwork with a buzz for 7 seconds and no buzz for 3 seconds and repeats. This is not affected by being turned on or off, channel, picture, volume etc. Also, if I go into my basement to my fuze panel / box, there is a buzzing that is the same as the TV. If I unplug it, it all stops. Any help is greatly appreciated. I searched for this kind of buzz problem but didn't find anything. Also, the houses wiring and fuze/ breaker box is all new.

Anyone know of a fix for the problems with green accuracy on the PN51D450? Pretty sure it's just a drawback of this budget set, but checking to make sure. Thanks.

Whats wrong with the green? You also need it on auto ColorSpace.

As Nutdotnet noted in post #666, there is oversaturated green on this panel. The color accuracy on everything else is pretty good. I love this panel, and my picture quality is fantastic, but the green does take on a bit of a neon appearance. I was just curious if there was any workaround in the service menu or something. Most likely it's just an inherent problem in the budget panel.

Youve got a combination of too much green and not enough red.Try raising red gain up 10 notches and redbias up 2.Watch tv for a couple days or a while .it will look reddish. If its way too red then red gain up 5,bias up2.that should get you closer...you could leave the red bias where it is too....ps its incredibly hard too get it really good unless you know exactly what too look for.

I'm looking at buying this tv but have never owned a plasma. I'm worried about stuff burning in, will this be an issue? It's the 450 I'm looking at.

TV suddenly died yesterday while watching some movie.tried turning it on/off, disconnected all cables including power then turned it on again and it still won't turn on. Red indicator light at the bottom blinks and there's this clicking sound coming from the back. I did searched online for possible causes but I don't want to speculate first before I hear from the experts here or somebody who had the same trouble.. I have the pn43D450A2Dxza bought from best buy early 2011. Hoping to hear from folks here for any help and possibly how-to on how to fix it. It sure is out of warranty for some time now. Love this TV and I don't want to part with it just yet lol.

Thanks, I'll give your settings a whirl on my PN43D450. This TV is still trucking along quite nicely. I still prefer the picture on this to most of the modern sets I see in stores today despite it being 2 1/2yrs old.

Gonna answer my own question..

The problem was as it turned out was the X main board caused by the factory installed FAULTY FIRMWARE. Purchased the repair kit at shopjimmy, downloaded the latest firmware and updated the TV's firmware once the "repaired" X main board was installed.

So this is a heads up to anybody that hasn't upgraded yet to upgrade now or pay for a hefty samsung repair or like me a lower cost (~$80) DIY route!!

I know this is a bit late, but is there any newer firmware than the May 11, 2011 v.1006.6 firmware for the PN43D450 North American? Thanks.

Anyone had issues with their HMDI input on this Model?

Came home today, and none of the HDMI inputs work, I tried everything I could find, from resetting it, unplugging it for 10 min, then  plugging the HDMI in, and turning it on... Nothing.

It acknowledges the HDMI's when I plug them in, but it won't connect or display them.

Analog works, and I'm currently using it as such.

Anyone have any ideas? Do I need a new board? If so, should I spent 40-50 on ebay for one, or buy a new one from Shop Jimmy for 90?

I wish I would have found this forum sooner, the info here on setting up the display is awesome. Hopefully I can straighten this TV out.

Thanks in advance!
