TV worked just fine last night. Turned it on today and the power light goes off but the screen remains black. I decided to pull the power cord out of my Monster Surge protector and waited a few seconds. Plugged it back in and tried turning it on again and still nothing. It also starts clicking on the inside of it. I am NOT able to power it off with the remote. Thankfully, it still has about 2 months of warranty left but I was really shocked that it broke less than 1 year after I purchased it..I called Samsumg and they will refer a local repair company to come look at it within 2 business days.

...Should I get it fixed and then sell it and try going with another brand??? Has anyone else experienced this?

The Rear Projection Toshiba that this replaced worked flawlessly for 5 years before I replaced it.

If you like the television, just let them fix it and then happily watch it for years.

BTW, you couldn't wait more than 42 minutes for a reply?

I love the TV...That's why I'm so disappointed. And of course I could wait...I know how bumping threads tends to help them get noticed so it obviously worked

Has anyone heard of this happening? If so, any idea what the solution was? I'm trying to figure out how long I'll be without it.

Dude, you still have a freakin warranty. Call them and they will fix it or give you a brand new one. Simple.

Ummmm..I already new that ...I have called Samsung and they referred my case to a local repair company. I just wanted to know how long I can expect it to be out of service and out of curiosity what caused that problem. Also, if this is a recurring issue with these TV's I might consider replacing it after it is fixed..

Glad they were able to fix it without a big hassle. Hitting the power button on the remote and getting nothing from the tv can really ruin your day.
