Jack K: Hi, thanks for reaching out to Samsung tech support. How can I help you today?
Jeff: hello, i am having a picture issue. I have the plasma model PN59D7000 and during many scenes when watch tv or a blu ray the brightness fluctuates. This is my second replacement and now a third replacement is on the way. Others are seeing the problem too on this forum:
Jack K: Please allow me to go through the inquiry.
Jack K: Does this happen on all inputs (like DVD and Cable box)?
Jeff: Is there a fix for this or a firmware update coming that fixes this?
Jack K: No, there is no firmware update for this issue.
Jeff: yes, all inputs. It is especially noticeable during scenes that pan across from a light color to a dark.
Jack K: Reset the TV and try again.
Jeff: Thanks, but I read another forum that mentions to do that and it still has the same issue. have you heard about this issue before?
Jack K: No, there are no reported issues on this model.
Jeff: It seems a lot of people are seeing the same issue and reporting it but the problem does not seem to be reaching anyone.
Jack K: I will report this issue to concern department.
Jeff: Thank you. Any way to make sure I'm notified that they are looking into it? The Best Buy I go to mentioned they have had 5 already returned. I'm hoping my third exchange will be good.
Jack K: I really apologize for the inconvenience caused to you.
Jack K: Is there anything else that I can assist you with?
Jeff: No problem - you have been helpful on your end so hopefully samsung engineers will look into this. Outside of the contrast and brightness fluctuations it is a great TV.
