I am trying to figure out how to search for titles on the Viera Cast Netflix, but for the life of me I cannot find it. Is it even possible? I believe I saw it when trying it out for the first time. This is on Panasonic TC-P54G25 with the latest firmware.

I don't see a Netflix search on my VT30, but I do on my Panny 110 BluRay player.

I was wondering the same thing; I'm assuming the best way to do it is to search online, put whatever you want to watch into your instant queue, then log back in via Vieracast and watch it.

If anyone knows a better way, please let me know.

Vieracast Netflix does not have search capablity as of right now. Hopefully that is something they will add soon with an update.

This is how I do it too. When I got my 42GT25 a couple weeks ago, I played with this for over an hour trying to figure out how to search. Now I'd like to know how to turn on closed captioning for those shows on Netflix with CC.

This is why I use the ps3 for netflix. I really wish panasonic would get with it and upgrade their online offerings for their tvs. And where is hulu?

There are different verisons of Netflix app for Panasonic devices. The latest version is on 2011 Panasonic BD players which supports 5.1 audio and search as well. The older version on 2010 TVs does not have search capability.

As for CC, there is substitle support in Netflix but I'm not sure if the older version of Netflix supports it. I know the new version supports it.

Is Panasonic likely to upgrade the firmware for older sets than 2011 to give us the search feature in Netflix?

There has been no word from Panasonic on that issue as of yet. Sony has already been doing firmware updates on some of their older Blu-Ray players when it comes to Netflix 5.1 audio and search features. I can only assume Panasonic will eventually do the same with their TV's and players. They have always been slow when it comes to updates, but when it comes to firmware problems down the road, they also experience less failure.

Sorry to drag up an old thread, but I feel it is a valid extension of the topic, and the topic hasn't been resolved yet. I have a 2011 TC-P42x3 with the latest (1.3) firmware and netflix still doesn't appear to offer a search capability nor closed caption/subtitle support. Both of these are supported on my wii though.

I'm in the same boat. 2011 TC-P50S30, also with the latest firmware (1.3). And the Netflix widget is barebones -- no search, and no subtitles/closed captions.

This sucks because I convinced my dad to buy one, and he requires subtitles. The built-in Netflix was a selling point, and now it's completely useless.

Completely worthless? He can use a computer to set up his instant queue, and then search his queue on the TV. He can also buy a BluRay player (such as the Panny 110 or 210) that allows Netflix searches. Foreign films in Netflix have subtitles automatically, or is he looking for English subtitles for English movies due to hard of hearing?

He's hard of hearing. He needs subtitles for everything.

One workaround is to use a Mac connected to the tv. Many Netflix movies will subtitle to the Mac, the you can drive it to the tv.

If you have a PS4 or PS3 or a relatively new TV (with wifi connectivity), you can control Netflix (or Youtube) from your smartphone or tablet.

In comparison I have to say that Netflix from my PS4 looks a lot better than the native Netflix app running on my brand new Panasonic AX820 in any case.

Hope that helps.
