I just found a huge crack in my plasma screen. Its a 2010 PN50b860. Am I SOL? Are there any do-it-yourself options I can try? The repair tech. Said it wouldn't be worth the repair price. Please help!

How did the crack get there? There are dozens of reports from owners where their Samsung panel spontaneously cracked on it's own while watching TV.

Is it still under the manufacturer's warranty? If so, file a claim, If it's beyond the one year warranty, did you buy it using a credit card that adds one year to the manufacturer warranty? If not, and you're on the hook for repairs, then the tech is correct in that it's not worth the expense to have the panel replaced.

Yep...

"spontaneously cracking Samsung plasma" is all over the internet now. Samsung will do everything in their power to say "your fault" on it.

Hope you have an extended warranty.
