after googling for days, it's apparent that Samsung has a major problem with their HDTVs (both plasma and LCD) not powering on. It seems that faulty capacitors cause the bulk of the issues and these items can be readily fixed at a low cost with soldering.
However, on my PN42B450 unit, the capacitors look fine - no bloated tops, no oozing, no obvious marks. I even replaced 2 fuses (3.15A and 8A, each @250V) but no luck. Also let it unplugged overnight and no luck.
What could it be? The issue was cause by my mistake of fumbling about the power strip, turning off/on a couple of times. But the other devices did not experience issues (BR player, Cable box).
People say the capacitor makes a noise when struggling to come on. But my unit is silent, just a perpetual blinking red power light at 1-second intervals.
thanks for any advice
