I wonder that too. LG has that under control, so Samsung should be able to as well.

For some reason I doubt it will be different...the E series basically looks like the D series...and if they can't figure it out with the D series, I don't have a whole lot of hope for the 2012 line.

I guess I'm just pessimistic...

Um, that's not what most others are saying. It seems Panny has some major under the hood re-engineering including motion processing, black drive, etc...lol, it figures the first unsubstantiated shots at Panny come from a Sammy thread...

60" 1080p 3D Plasma Panel

Nice find. Just reporting what I heard on the offical Samsung YouTube page.

http://www.youtube.com/user/SamsungU...18/RX1cFh1nriQ

Maybe they’re splitting hairs, the 2011 models were 59.06” and if they made the bezel smaller they could be 59.5” viewable and thus a 60” claim.

The spokesperson also said there are four sizes, last year there were only 3 sizes so maybe they do have 60" and the source listed is incorrectly listing last years screen sizes.

The line from Samsung looks impressive ! CES was pretty good this year The Samsung where supposed to have a all new black filter in them. So, there are some big changes to come. In the end we will have to see what happens when they come out and testing is done The units had a real nice bezel, tiny I say!

I have been using kinect, and I know how hard it is to control it with gestures.
So, I don't believe that it will help average user a lot with controls.
Also, voice control is just a nice thing to be demonstrated. I cannot see myself speak to the TV or Phone.
Instead, Panasonic introduced a mouse-like remote control so you can browse web pages easily on a big screen, or chose content to be viewed in an easy way.
When you are "wowed" by something, don't you know that most of ordinary people(like I think I am) want to watch TV lying in a couch and possibly as many remotes around. That's TV for me.
Please don't change it!
Just give me the best picture and content you get!

The bezel appeared to be identical in width, at least on the larger sets -- I don't recall seeing any smaller sets myself.

There is no difference in HDMI cables. If you can see the picture without visible dropouts or sparklies, the cable is working at 100%. No other cable will display a better version of that picture. You're simply wrong if you think there is a better digital cable than one that is already working.

Maybe you were fooled because it's darker? I'm not saying you're wrong; but I was close to it and it looked the same to me. Of course, I don't find the 2011 Samsung bezel particularly thick.

If it's 1/4" thinner and you're correct, I wouldn't be stunned; I just didn't see it as thinner.

Samsung, I'd say the odds are 0%.

Panasonic, I'd say the odds are 50%; announced closer to mid-year if it's happening.
