Hi everyone,

I bought a Panasonic 54-S2 on March 2010 and have been relatively satisfied up until now. The TV's Buzzing seems to have gotten out of hand. I can literally hear it from as far 15-20 away with no sound. And under normal viewing with sound I can still hear it 8-10 feet away. Of course, my Panny warranty has expired, but I still have warranty service with HHGREG. Any thoughts or Ideas.

P.S I just don't remember this TV being so Loudly up until now

If the buzzing is so loud that you can hear it beyond even 3-4 feet then that's not normal operation so obviously the TV is defective and should be repairable. My sister-in-law has a 50S2 (i installed it for her) and it's virtually silent when we're close to it. It's in her master bedroom in a luxury condo with double-pane windows and the room gets silent at night, yet we don't hear any buzz when we're watching it.

Thanks Randy

I just got off the phone with the service center and we're suppose to set up an appointment within 2 business days. But just curious any idea what part might be causing this buzz? Is it something replaceable?

Well apparently it could be a number of things inside the TV that can cause it to buzz abnormally loud; it could be anything from a screw that has vibrated loose, to a bad coil on a PCB board or a bad power supply etc, or the plasma panel itself may have gone bad. (In my case, the buzzing made a whining noise in the middle of the Television, the tech said it was probably a coil on the power board.)

Good to know, thanks.
