Thanks for your impressions. It's comments like this about their screen however that make me wonder if
a) anybody who is having an issue with a faint line on the right of the screen should think about an exchange since it's not on all sets
b) some people just aren't noticing the line because it's very faint, and it is on all sets due to the way they manufacture these sets
Again, the line I've noticed is indeed very hard to see - it's almost not there. But then again, why should I pay for a set with a line, no matter now faint, across the entire screen when others paid the same amount and don't have any line at all? I just hate the thought that for the price of this set it has a screen defect like some others have mentioned.
Actually, I'm more tempted to believe b - it seems unlikely that I happened to get a set with a rare issue like the line that some notice. Being so faint, I'm more likely to believe that it's just not noticeable by many. I like that better actually because that means my set is fine and that's just how they are made. It's better than the alternative.
No offense to those who don't see it - it's just my experience like another issue I noticed a short while ago that just got resolved regarding a media player - it stuttered when playing 23.976 material, but most people in the forum claimed theirs didn't stutter. The rep finally said that all the units did that and they have since been fixed with a new framerate - but many on that thread swore that they didn't have the stutter, even though they all did in fact have it.
It would be nice to know one way or the other if this line is normal or if it is something that is only on some sets - that would put an end to wondering if it's something to worry about.
