Hello,

I recently just purchased a 42" ST30 as it was mentioned to be one of the best plasma TV's at that size. Today I saw the new 42" UT50 is going for about the same price as the ST30, so does anyone know how the new UT50 series compares with the ST30 series?

Thanks!

Ut is a new series that give super bottom shelf features but still 3D. It has 2 hdmi, no sort of "infinite black" panel, etc.

I just picked up a 55st30 to compliment my 50vt25 and I love it. Looks great and great on IR so far.

Unless the known issues of panasonic's 2011 panels bother you-- I'd stick with the ST30. Filter alone is worth it to stay with last years model.

It's a brand new TV so nobody really knows how good it is. It'll probably end up being on par with the ST30 since there is no S line now and the ST50 went up a notch. The 42" is technically Panasonic's top 42" Plasma now, so who knows what level of panel is in there.
