I would recommend Monoprice as they have many options for HDMI spiltters. I was using one a few years ago with an Anthem AVM 30 as it did not have HDMI inputs and it worked great.

I have a question, if you calibrate this tv in normal color space, and calibrate at wide color space, the results should more or less be the same. What does wide color space do? Does it enable more color bits like 10 bits per color?

Thanks for the reference spectre but i'm looking for a different answer. Does normal color space only have 8 bits? How many bits of color does wide color produce? Here is an example: normal color space: 8 bits / wide color space: 10 bits?? Both calibrated to d65 will look the same, but wide color might be better since it has more bits it might reduce banding correct?

It expands the color gamut don't believe it impacts the bit depth

Ah, so what would it be most beneficial for? Photo editing? Computer use? Video Games?

It would only be "good bye" if they dig their heels in and continue to sell 20 year old technology when the rest of the industry moves forward without them. I think it's the best decision they have made in at least a decade. I'm more curious to see if Apple has future plans for an OLED up its sleeve.

Dang it. Looking to buy a 60" GT50 but it's sold out at PaulsTv.

Chances are pretty good that Amazon will either raise their price or run out of stock soon. Dragging your feet during this time of year can mean a big loss.

Still sucks for those were dedicated to plasma TVs. On the other hand I would hope it would give LED and OLED a chance to improve and surpass plasma at a cheaper price only then what I'd be happy with the move.

Why, so you can pay too much for something with a nice form factor?

It isn't too much to everyone.

Panasonic has not said they are done with Plasmas...at least what I have read. It said a possible option is getting rid of them, but potentially more likely will be them only having a couple of models....who knows though, it depends on the numbers and what they are actually losing. It makes no sense to get rid of a technology that has been invested into and to try and not make some of the money back - clearly there is a market for plasma. OLED is still a ways away, but who knows.

BB is a great place to buy since they started price matching.

They already have "only a couple of models." Everyone knew this was coming. It's just a matter of time before plasma display becomes a thing if the past.

Obviously its a matter of time, as will LED at some point disappear, but they currently have 4-5 models right? Cutting that to 2 would significantly reduce cost.

I just think its, bad news is better than no news for Panasonic. They will love any talk about their plasmas. Its only my opinion, but I think it is only speculation... I am wrong most of the time, mind.

Huge win for Samsung/LG mind you.

Maybe you missed the many posts here by those that were also "lucky" that got great prices through price matches at Best Buy wink.gif. Its called being a saavy shopper and not just going on the listed prices of retailers such as BB. Have you ever heard of price matching? The above is a typical response from you when you are totally wrong but you try to spin it in another direction. Maybe you would rather deal with places like Abe's of Maine as they have some of the lowest prices out there. I value service as much as I value getting the lowest price. Unique concept huh wink.gif?
