Hello all, I'm new to the forum and I need some advice.

I plan to purchase a new plasma tv in the upcoming month. This will be my first plasma tv, I already own an lcd.

I can't decide between buying a new panasonic 42" g30 or a used 42" gt30. They have the same price, the used gt30 is 3 months old.

What would you do if you were in my position, buy the new g30 or the used gt30? 3d is not very important to me. What should I watch for if I decide to buy the used tv?

Any other models within the same price range that are better in your opinion?

Thank you for your time.

Those are last year's models. You'd be better off with an ST50 (but not sure what sizes it comes in).

I'm from Bosnia&Herzegovina, and I doubt that our stores have the new models. Ill check to see if they have the st50. Thank you for your reply.

The 42ST50E will probably cost more than a new 42G30E right now. But it also seems to be significantly better (according to the reviews).
I suggest to choose the used GT30 if everything is OK with that (warranty papers, no physical damage or burned in logos, etc) or wait for the 42ST50 prices (in case they are not available yet).

"DIY certified hobby-calibrator" (based on ChadB's "warning signs" list

I just checked an online store here, and the 42st50 model is about 10% more expensive than the 42g30. Aside from the 3d capabilities, is the st50 worth the extra money? thanks
