A quick question about specific 3D issue.

Hello there. I've read this entire thread from August posts until now to see if this was mentioned. I know with the active 3D ghosting and crosstalk are sometimes issues but I have a specific question about Avengers 3d.

I also know with high contrast the image can have more issues but my main problems are in scene 7. With the scene of Loki the transforms to the moon. As the camera revolves I can actually see my image swap and get very blurry and a bar on the left side of the screen that almost seems like the scene isn't synced. This also happens on I believe scene 6 where Iron Man is underwater and as he flies up and the cityscape is in the background everything is blurry. This continues all the way through the end of the scene where Jarvis removes his suit.

My main question is this has NOT been a problem in any 3D movie we have seen yet. Prometheus, Lion King, Life of Pi, Hobbit, Titanic, Avatar, Abe Lincoln Vampire Hunter, Transformers, Immortals, Beauty and the Beast, Tin Tin.

Not only has this never been a problem before but what was strange to me was how the ENTIRE scene violently shifted in Scene 7 with Loki it wasn't just some ghosting or crosstalk on a specific object it was the entire scene and the offset image on the left side almost appearing layers incorrectly.

I listed my other movies to see if anyone has had issues with this in other films or hopefully someone can tells me if Avengers 3D on their UT50 has the same issues.

Thanks in advance, look forward to any help and advice.

Hi all smile.gif

Just a quick question, when playing 24fps movies, is it better (less juddering etc) to send 24hz signal to this TV, or 60hz?

I searched for an answer but couldn't find a solid one.

in the PICTURE Menu, the choices are 60 and 48; for me 48 is unwatchable, give it a try with some 1080p/24 material and let us know your experience

just 1 more pair of KLIPSCH Classic speakers...

Thanks for the reply, but I don't have such option, is this only on the US model? Mine accepts 1080p/24hz signal.

Are there any UT50 owners out there who also own a 2013 S60 model? I've read good reviews of the S60 and wondering if they'd be that much better than my UT50 (I doubt it). I have a few days left before my 90 days are up at Costco. I've been happy with my UT50, just curious if anyone has seen both in a home environment.

For those having issues with loud buzzing, mine was covered under warranty. Tech said he knew exactly what it was, and replaced all the screws with ones that have lockwashers. Nice and quiet, just a little tiny buzz when you are right next to the screen now. My loud buzzing didn't pop up until I rearranged the living room and moved the tv.

Lots of reviews of UT50 compatible 3D glasses here: Panasonic 2012 Compatible 3D Glasse

My recommendation: For $29, get the more comfortable and rechargeable Xpand X105BT from Amazon.

Glad they work for U. I need to get a small pair for when my granddaughter visits and a couple of cheap spare's for visitors.

I have a new Panasonic DMP-BDT220 Integrated Wi-Fi 3D Blu-ray DVD Player

also and last night ran my first true 3D movie "Life of Pi". It was super......but I must admit I will use 3D only on
special occasions. The Panny glasses worked fine but half way through the movie the sync icon appeared on the screen to let me know that the battery was at 50 %.

Since I am still learning I guess I need to go to another forum to find out what the correct setting for 3D depth should be. I think the options are 0 to 4. The movie looked like it had correct depth at the default settings.

Another, quirk I need to understand is when the player started the TV wanted to know if I should select BD, something else or full screen 3D. While I was trying to figure this out, the default 3 D message appeared on the screen so I had to fish for the TV remote to make that message go away and by the time this task was done, the BD, something else, full screen 3D option had gone away. I am guessing that the questions were originating from the Panny TV and not from the 3D player.

The player does turn the Panny TV ON and OFF and also controls the volume on the sound bar but the message "speakers Off" message appears every time the volume is adjusted. (Duh!) Is there a way to turn this message off (without turning the internal speakers on again)? The ehelp is almost as worthless (but not quite) as the Denon AVR setup manuals.

Those settings don't change depth, they change convergence. In other words, they adjust the image forwards or backwards in 3D. If you adjust the image forwards, then objects originally intended to be at screen depth will appear in front of the screen. If it's adjusted backward, then those objects will appear to be located inside the screen. Default preserves the original artistic intent, so I tend to stay with that. Adjusting it can have some unnatural effects on the edges of the screen as well.

Whay about the even cheaper mounts for sale on amazon? Many of them have free shipping and tons of positive reviews.

I don't want to overpay... but I also don't want to buy a wall mount for my p50ut50 that is "too cheap" and it falls off the wall or something...

I've got a question about the USB port.

Will it play EXFAT files?

I have a friend who is going to send me a movie on a 32GB USB drive but he can only record it reformatting the drive stick to EXFAT.
I know my Oppo won't play it but what about the UT50?

Anyone know?

Hello, I'm wondering if any one else uses the Hulu Plus app on their UT50. I have Comcast in the Chicago area; they recently bumped up their speed to about 25mbps. With Hulu I've had to lower the quality to SD. With either of the HD settings I get bad stuttering and long buffer times. I read about DNS settings can affect it but I've changed them and the issue still persists. Any one have any other ideas?

I've had the UT50 for about three weeks, now, and, well...WOW!

I mean, it's amazing. Still waiting on my HD DirecTV receiver, but local broadcast HD is almost disturbingly clear.

However, I've run into odd behaviour surrounding USB/SD card. Using the media player in the TV, it tends to display only one, on rare occasion two, files on either drive, even thought there may be 15 files on it. All are the same format, file names are 'normal', all variable sizes, pressing the INFO button shows this is file 1/1, folder name is /, and number of files is accurate.

??????

Unfortunately, the manual is not helpful stating: How data is displayed differs depending on data storage conditions.

There is not clue one about what affects it and how. Has anyone figured this out, or is it limited to having one file on, in this case, a 64GB SD card, at a time.

Thanks!

Sorry for asking for help on a first post, but this thread is so detailed, it's helped me incredibly, and is mighty comprehensive.

edit: Ah, HA!! I see .mp4 and .vob files work, but .avi do not. Got it.

.avi may not work because it's just a container like .mkv, it's not a codec or format. If the files were MPEG-2 with AC-3 audio, I would expect it to work. If it's DIVX or XVID then it may not recognize the codec.

Any input apprecieated

I have a couple of friends who have bought from OpenBox.

One is fine after 6 months - no problems.

Second one had the TV fail after a couple of months and OpenBox replaced it with another TV. They did have to go to a second store after the first one refused to replace it though. I guess it depends on which salesman/store you are dealing with.

I bought my 60UT50 next door at Visions Electronics. I wanted the full one year warranty, plus the extra for paying with a MasterCard - and I got AirMiles.

YMMV

Hi, I got a n5hbz0000055 panasonic adapter with my GT30 set. I never used it as I wire directly. I took it out the bag to test it on my new TC-P55UT50 and it was recognized immediately, so this one works. I have mine on ebay right now, PM me her if interested.
