I see your points but I stand by my thoughts that the best thing to do is to buy the best set you can afford and not try to buy the biggest set for the money you have!

I wouldn't get anything smaller than a 65" if you can afford it. I sit 8' away from a 50" and it's way too small for movies, especially letterboxed ones.
