Need some advice, found an open box 65vt30 at BB. I can get it for around $2000 with 36 mos financing which is why im considering. They say its a customer return ,not display item. Im gonna check how many hours are on it. If there are no defects i can see and i still have 30 days to return, would you do it? How many hours on the tv would be a deal breaker for you?

Would I buy it? No, but I don't buy floor models. Check the hours, but also look at it very carefully to make sure there is no burn-in, dead pixels, etc. My concern would be if somebody returned it for a reason, ie, a defect. Also make sure it comes with all included equipment (remote, Wifi adapter, etc). Since it's being replaced by the VT50, you also may be able to get a great deal on a new VT30. Check around, locally and online.

Could be green blobs/pink edges or loud buzzing also to look for as defects.

For what it's worth. The TV is still backed by the full manufacturers warranty and the same return policy as a new set. As long as everything mentioned above looks good, it will be just like a new TV. I don't think there are any better values out there!

Though I am an employee of Magnolia Home Theater, the views and opinions I express on this forum are those of my own and not my employer.
