when comparing 60" sets to 64"/65" sets. The price difference is somewhat significant I know that much. $900 difference between the 60E7000 and 64E7000, and $600 between the 60GT50 and 65GT50. These are BB prices.

I currently have a 50" S1 in my den that I would be replacing. I sit approximately 12 feet away.

Maximum THX viewing distance
P65 64.7" == 10.2 ft
P60 60.1" == 9.5 ft
50" == 7.9 ft

at 12 feet 60 vs 65 ( .7 ft) is not significant, IMO.

I went with the 60" at Amazon. I sit 9 feet away.

I don't think 5" is going to make that much of a difference to me to pay that extra money. I am upgrading from a 42", so I would probably even be happy getting a 50" because that's going to be quite a bit bigger. We'll see what happens when I'm actually ready to purchase tho.

Turn it up!

Today's VE Shootout Panelists said that larger panels exhibit lower mll figures too.

Size matters, especially at 12 ft away. I sit 8ft with a 60" and I find it to be perfect. A week ago a 55" was there and it seemed small. IMO, details and 3D are better with the 60".

So are saying the 64/65" would be the way to go for me or that anything 60" and up should be fine.

As big as you can go without compromising picture quality. I would personally go for 64/65 at 12 feet. I sit 6.5" away from my new 55" and while I love it, I wish Panasonic made it in a 60". I think the 65" would have been too large for me.

ht Panasonic 60" ZT60, Monitor Audio: Silver RX6, RX Centre, RX1; Martinlogan Dynamo 700, Marantz SR5006, PS3, Oppo BDP-103D, Panamax M-5100PM

pc Monitor Audio Radius 90HD, Audioengine D1, FiiO A1
+ Sony 65" XBRX850B, Sony BDP-S5100
