Also, check the input names in the TV settings for your HDMI ports. If any input says something like "not used" then you need to change it, otherwise it will be deactivated.

No it doesn't say that. Also it happened that they stopped working in the middle of use... so I don't know how that setting would have changed in the middle of use.

Did you get there right manual? There are a couple, I don't recall having and confusion over the descriptions, but it's been s few years. Most settings are recommended to be disabled anyway.

Hi!
My UT50 is showing a vertical line, about one pixel wide...
Have any of you had this problem or something like it?
Maybe my TV is dying :/
The image is still perfect though, no problems at all.
The line appears when the TV is showing some specific colors.
Sometimes it isn't noticiable, depending on the background, but sometimes, on blue brackgrounds, for example, it's clearly visible...
Maybe only 2 of the 3 RGB colors are working for this column of pixels?

I have a theory that the vertical line anti image retention thing on this set can actually cause a burned in vertical line pattern, due to the way the screen brightens/darkens at certain positions of the vertical lines. I often used the vertical lines if I had some image retention, or if I was going to leave the screen paused while I went to the bathroom or whatever, and now I have this pattern of burned in vertical bars. Only noticeable against solid colors for the most part (most noticeable in a solid grey) but it's there. It's like each bar burned in as a gradient from dark to light, which against each other still show enough contrast to be visible.

Has anybody else used the vertical bars a lot with their TV to try to prevent IR? If so, have you noticed anything similar to what I notice?

is it 8 blinks? if so, that's an easy fix from $20 if you have soldering gun to $60-ish if you can work a phillips screw driver.

IHAQ, How do you access the internet web browser? I looked in the setup and I do not see a way to access it. Thank you for reading.

I rarely watch movies from an SD card, but after trying last night I noticed that the service menu calibration settings don't seem to work.

When playing content through HDMI 1 or 2 Anikun's settings are used(and still look brilliant I must say) but it seems to use the default settings for playback through the SD slot. Black levels are noticeably gray compared to using HDMI and there is a slight green cast. Is there any way to implement the settings for every input?

I've never tried using an SD card. I would think if there is no way to change the pictures settings or color temp, then there probably isn't a way to adjust it. Have you tried to see if it does the same with USB storage? I recently began playing back video on my blu ray player from USB storage, but of course that's an HDMI input.

Sorry for the noob question, I've had the TC-P50U50 for about a year now, but never thought to calibrate it. I've never done that before.
I was looking at PathofNeos post on his setting, how do I go about getting my settings that way? Is there a calibrate disc I need to use or a certain area I go into the settings that has all those bars and graphs?

Again sorry for the noob question, this is pretty new for me. Would like to get the best out of this tv for picture quality.

UK Help

Hi

I'm looking for good UK settings for my TX-P50UT50B. I did have great settings but pressed the dreaded "n" button last night and everything returned to factory settings.
I did write down the settings I got somewhere on the internet from several years ago but now I can find neither .
I'm just looking for good standard settings for watching everyday TV but most settings on here are non UK. The UK version has no numbers so is set from "clicks" either from left or right.
Any help please

Thanks

I can't say for sure, because I know the blacks were always raised in 3D mode, but I feel like they've gotten brighter and brighter over time to the point where 3D is really washed out and ugly now. Does anybody else have this problem?

I'm looking to upgrade to an LG C6 for better 3D soon, but I still wondered if mine was a typical experience.

Is it worth upgrading a P55UT50 to the TCL 55P607? Or should I wait on a decent OLED TV to come down in price? My Xbox One was accidentally turned on and left with a static image of an image of the console. I've gone through 4 days of IR reduction (white image, black image, scrolling white/black images, color spirals, etc...) and I cannot seem to rid the set of all of the IR. It's driving me nuts.

The hard part is trying not to see the IR. I had the same thing happen with my Panny VT60 and I couldn't un-see it. Every time I watch the TV my eye kept going to the IR. If the IR isn't that bad and you can live with it then hold out. But if the IR is too much to take the TCL may get you through until the OLEDs come down in price. My UT50 is still running strong as a secondary TV and the VT60 had a bad panel not long after the IR issue and was replaced two years ago with a Samsung. Just my two cents, good luck with your decision.
