I highly recommend the Samsung 43" PN43E450
The new 'Real Black' panel' is VERY resistant to image
retention and it has great blacks and picture quality.
Wallmart has it rolled back to $399 and it's the best TV
money can buy at that price.
Be sure the Cell Light at it's max of 20 and set to 'Movie' mode.
With the Cell Light turned way down Samsung gets the Energy Star rating.
On my E450 it was only at 6 for 'Standard' mode and completely unwatchable.
Unfortunately that is the default setting out of the box
so at the store they look very dim and broken.

what year is your Samsung plasma (it's printed on the back.
You can't compare a 2011 or older Samsung plasma to this years models.
Yes they have improved that much.
They have no image retention problems at all witch is a major breakthrough
if not the holy grail of solving the number one complaint against the tech.
