Yup, price drops before the item ships are credited, but I believe she said that I'd have to call in to request it. It wouldn't be automatic. To be honest, I didn't write any of this down, so anyone considering going through them should probably call themselves and ask all of these questions

Also, the free shipping they offer is "threshold" only. If you want in house delivery, it's another $100. Keep that in mind when comparing to other dealers.

Thats why I like the Cleveland Plasma style of preorder. Just create a list, adjust price for accuracy as launch nears, accurate date range, and no pre authorization. TV is launched, he calls you and you either pay or dont, and he moves down list.

^^^ Last year they where not like this, we have always been this way. Why take funds on something you do not have? Makes no sense to us, that is why we never have done this.

Best Buy does not offer pre-order per-se. Stores may start selling TV's sometimes a week in advance, if inventory is en-route. You are essentially ordering the TV though at that point though, and your card would be fully charged. We have not been allowing this as much lately though, as delivery dates aren't always that accurate, which tends to irritate people. Current release expectations are the same as everyone else.

Though I am an employee of Magnolia Home Theater, the views and opinions I express on this forum are those of my own and not my employer.

From what i recall, they did last year as well. Had a preorder list, never charged until ready to ship and could cancel anytime. They called when it was in stock to confirm you still wanted it.

Either way it's moot. Just nice knowing there's at least two good, reputable dealers out there.

Looking to get my first plasma just had a few questions! Should I be worried about ir ? Do I really need to run that ir disk for the first 100 hours ? And I know to stay way from espn and black bars but can I watch tv normal or do I really have to stay away from everything? Reason I ask some that I know was watching a movie on tbs and the tbs logo would not go away yes a newbie too this but want to make sure before I buy a plasma ! Don't get me wrong if I buy a tv I should be able to watch tv normal with out worries or why would you buy ? Thanks

There are dozens of threads for these topics. Look around the forum, but this thread is for 2013 Panny discussion only.

There is no such disk. You are misunderstanding or have been misled. See the link above.

I'm not sure what you're asking, but first you need to figure out why you want to buy a plasma. This isn't the thread for that job. Best wishes. smile.gif

And me too. I took the plunge and sent in a preorder email on this set myself. My first dealings with Cleveland Plasma, but lots of praise for them here.

Hard to pony up for the open box GT50's and such that are out there right now with this price or lower on these 2013 sets for preorder. (I must say that other than everyone being out of the 60St50's, the only deal I actually miss getting was maybe the Paul's TV 55VT50 for 1499 w no tax.)

Add me to the list of folks who've asked CP to place me on their list for the 60ST60 based on my calibrator's recommendation of the ST50 series and what I've read here on AVS about the upcoming ST60's.

A simple your on the wrong page was already explained too me.I Did not know people could be so rude. I am a newbie reading alot about plasma good and bad. Talking to BB is going anywhere they don't tell you ****. On here reading most can be helpful but asking the first steps too break in a tv is different . Called Panasonic They told me i was not allowed to watch anything on my Direct TV with logos of any kind for more than 15 minutes and if i did i had to change the channel now stop. SO i was told no Espn so TBS Spike channels. I don`t game. SO if i have to do all of that just to watch tv that is pretty sad! And Yes i am a newbie which i am sure all of you have been before! looking back at my first post i can see the confusion of my post. What i want from a plasma is to be able to turn it on with out this slides to just watch tv and enjoy? some people say you can some people say you can't !Thanks

As long as you vary the content you're viewing especially in the first few hundred hours you should be fine. Tone down the settings and watch full screen content. I wouldn't turn on a brand new plasma, go to ESPN, watch it for 10 hours straight and expect not to see image retention from the scrolling ESPN bar..

Display: Pioneer PRO-151 60" Elite
Blu-ray player: OPPO BDP-93, Sony BDP-S1000ES
HD DVD player: Toshiba HD-XA2(2)
Processor: Onkyo PR-SC885
Amplifier: Emotiva IPS-1 150Wx7
Game Console: Xbox 360, PS3

99% of plasma owners are not AVS freaks(No offense) and experience very little incidence of IR. You do not have to run slides, or change channels every fifteen minutes. Just be somewhat mindful of it and don't turn the brightness up very far for the first 100 hours. People suggest running the slides so that afterwards they don't have to worry about any of that. In the end though, if you just plug it in and start using it you will probably be just fine.

Though I am an employee of Magnolia Home Theater, the views and opinions I express on this forum are those of my own and not my employer.

I mostly agree. Stations that use dimmed logos vs stations that have white blazing logos make a difference too.

I wasn't debating how long it takes for image retention to show itself. 10 hours was just a random number that came to mind while trying to help a new forum member with his query.

Did you actually read and understand my post?
