So, I've had my V10 for a few years now and have been happy with it. My wife has been working for a big box retailer and will be quitting soon, so I'm thinking about updating to a newer model. The best deal for her seems to be on Samsung.

Aside from the 3d capability, do you all think there would be a substantial difference in PQ from the V10 to the E7000 or possibly the E8000?

Thanks in advance!

Bump. Anyone have any thought on whether or not the newer plasmas like this one would be much of an upgrade over the V10?

The 2012 Pannys are getting the best reviews. Black levels and color accuracy are better with the ST50/GT50/VT50 compared to your V10. Blacks are not as good on the Samsungs.

The Samsungs will blow away your V10.

2012 Samsung's have better 3D. Minimum luminance is a bit better on the Panasonic's, but if you don't watch TV in complete darkness you probably wouldn't see the difference. Either TV's MLL will be far better then your V10.

Also, the E8000 has a few more options then the e7000 such as a built in webcam. But if those aren't important to you the E7000 will have the same picture quality as the 8000.

If you're at a high alttude there is the possibility of the Samsung buzzing, it doesn't seem to do as well over all in that lottory as the Panasonic.

Also Image Retention problems are NOT an issue with the 2012 Sammys.

The E7000 and E8000 have improved black levels and contrast (its All Black Pure Filter technology), along with anti-glare technology and Smart/3D TV. If you find these features and the slightly better picture quality to be worth the extra cost, go for it.
