I read that my Yanaha RX A3000 hsd an excellent video processor, but Netflix via the VT50 has far better PQ than Netflix via my ROKU box run throuh my Yamaha processor, although I get buffering with the VT50 which only rarely happens wth the ROKU.
Make sense or am I doing something wrong?

Every device can have different PQ with Netflix. My 2011 Panny BluRay player (110) has considerably better PQ streaming Netflix than my 2011 Panny display (VT30). In general, BluRay players do a better job than displays. I am surprised that the ROKU is worse than the display.

The buffering could be your wireless speed . The TV may be trying to get a1080 feed and the internet you have may not be fast enough without buffering .
The Roku may be asking for a720 feed and doesn't require buffering at your wireless speed .
The 1080 feed would take more bandwith and have a better picture .
Make sure nothing else is using your internet connection while you are using the vt50 with the netflix

Why don't you try both ways, say a week each, in order to make up for different internet speeds and such and see which way gives the best result?
