I want to upgrade to a 3d TV for our Boys.

I have a Kuro-600 that I LOVE. Since there is no 60 VT Panny. What do you think differences would be on a GT model?

I know there will be some. Just not sure how much or if it will be a huge difference.

Thanks!

Hello,
I have a 60GT50 and it is utterly fantastic. The VT50 does offer a more advanced AR Filter and ISF Day and Night Modes. While the VT will be somewhat better if used in a room with copious amounts of ambient light, the GT50 is slightly brighter in a light controlled room so there are pros and cons to both. In addition, it offers a secondary RC for Viera Link. That being said, the GT50 uses the same Panel, THX Modes, and even looks quite similar to the VT. Had there been a 60VT50 available in the US, I probably would have gone that way myself. However, the advantages to the VT were simply not worth getting a 55 inch Panel instead. I believe there is a 60VT50 in the EU.
Cheers,
AD

I "upgraded" from a Pioneer 141fd (60") to a 65vt50 and still own a Pioneer 500m. The 65VT50 is ever bit as good as the 141fd which is essentially equivalent to the 600m. So you will not be unhappy buying a VT50 but keep in mind the picture quality isn't really better than the 600m, but you do gain 3D. if you can wait for next years models, I would wait..

Want to be clear. VT is not an option.

Looking at the 60in GT.

What changes would be coming next year where waiting would be best?

As Panasonic has lost billions with much of it coming from the TV Division, there are no guarantees there will be 2013 Panasonic PDP's. The fact that Panasonic is now offering 55 inch LCD's and like most are working on OLED's gives this more credence. However, as the 2012 PDP's were heavily redesigned, I am guessing there will be 2013 Panasonic PDP's but with little internal changes.

based on the HDJ Panasonic insider's thread (has a panasonic rep contributing to the thread), 2013 plasmas will be released.

There really isn't much of a difference bween the VT50 and GT50 in terms of PQ

I said I thought there would be 2013 Panasonic PDP's, but that there would not be many if any internal changes. I still fear Panasonic PDP's are not going to be available for very much longer which is a real shame as Panasonic purchased a number of Pioneer PDP Patents.

For yourself and your kits the GT series will be fine. YOu don't need all the features of the VT.

Hello,
In regards to my concerns about 2013 Panasonic PDP's being released, here is a link to an article from an Italian Website. http://www.dday.it/redazione/6990/Panasonic-stop-ai-plasma-nel-2013.html
Using Google Chrome, to translate into English automatically comes up. I still think that there will be 2013 Panny PDP's, but it would not completely shock me either.
Cheers,
